I think just beer and wine with just one champagne toast pouring is perfect. You can also opt to set up a "cash bar" and guests can pay for mixed drinks themselves. It's expensive to get married and know that people understand that. Wine is perfect for having with the meal and beer for the party mood.

We are doing cash bar for “cocktail hour” (more like just hanging around waiting for everyone to show up) bc our ceremony and reception are in different locations. We will have non-alcoholic drinks but we don’t want to pay for everyone to have open bar alcohol if no one will be there yet. We will have an open bar for reception with wine, beer, vodka, rum, etc. I think if people really feel the need to drink before the open bar we’re paying for starts, they can pay. You already provide food, dancing, family time, and a beautiful venue. Don’t feel the need to break the bank or skimp out on something you want just to have an open bar all night long. It’s about you and what you want at your wedding.

We are doing a consumption bar (setting a limit of $500) to be able to buy our guests a drink during the cocktail hour since we did invite our dearest friends and family to the event. Because our budget is tight and we feel the need to focus on ourselves and what make us happy instead or JUST the guests happy on OUR special day, we are doing a cash bar at the reception. If people want more drinks throughout the night, they’ll be able to pay for them Smiley smile hope this helps!

We are in the same boat. On our wedding invitations we just put cash bar at the bottom so everyone knew before they even went. If they wanted to drink, they have to pay.

Definitely open bar! I just went to a small wedding reception (about 50 people) held at a restaurant and we had to pay for the preset appetizers, dinner that was offered and drinks that we ordered! I was taken back by it and extremely offended. I actually second guess giving the wedding gift (a card with cash) but I gave it anyway because that is just the way I am. Buy your liquor at Costco or BJs, its cheaper and you can return any unopened items. Also serve signature cocktails during cocktail hour as well as wine and beer. You can also do wine and beer service only during dinner. You can leave the hard liquor options for during the cake cutting and dancing. This will also help cut down some of your liquor cost. You should try to get a photographer that also offers a photo booth. Some of them will throw it in for free. I hope this helps. Enjoy planning and don't stress.

My venue offered where I could buy so many kegs of beer. After they are gone they have to buy there own beer. They can bring there own alcohol.

Open bar. If you need to, serve beer and wine only.

No photobooth. Less Flowers. Shop around for an affordable DJ.
