What do you think? Is she just old Fashioned or is this true?

Nah. It's your day. Wear flipflops for all they care. You will look beautiful don't worry.

Oh, for heaven's sake! I wore dressy sandals for my first wedding, back in 1977. At that point, strapless gowns were considered a bit trampy, but open-toed shoes were fine. Now, the rules are looser yet. Wear what you want, and just nod and smile at G-ma.

The shoes are cute! I've never heard this, so it's probably her own opinion or an older custom. The thing is though, if you are going to be self-conscious or worried now about the shoes, then it's not worth it and pick new shoes. I'm either wearing flip-flops or victorian wedding boots, so clearly I think your shoes are far more wedding "appropriate" than mine! But, it's all about what makes you most comfortable!

I don't think they are trampy...but what would I know I'm wearing platform flipflops that I beaded to match my jewlery.

Oh and as a side note the peep toe shoes issue is nothing compared to my grandma and my tattoos showing... But I just told her that they are part of who I am and I'm not about to hide part of me on my wedding day. She might not like it but I'm going to be nice enough to photoshop out the tatoos in the picutres I give her.
