So FH and I are both huge Disney fans. we are not having a Disney themed wedding per se but I was thinking it might be nice to put little touches here and there. Mainly I was thinking of doing our table names as Disney songs instead of numbers. Do you think this is a dumb idea? Our colors kind of go...

Mainly I was thinking of doing our table names as Disney songs instead of numbers. Do you think this is a dumb idea? Our colors kind of go with a fun loving Disney thing (yellow, pink & turquoise).

I was also trying to figure out a way to work disney into our Candy/Sweets Buffet. ANy suggestions?

For the candy buffet, I'd go subtle with the decorations or the way it's designed. For instance, put candy in a jar that says "hunny" as a reference to Winnie the Pooh. Or candy in a treasure chest with little treasures around it (fake pearls, starfish, etc) as a reference to The Little Mermaid. Then maybe have a lamp and little bowls surrounding it or bars of candy piled around it (like a treasure pile) that'll be a reference to Aladdin... Those are just a few suggestions. I have a couple more that I'm trying to think of...

If you're into the newer Disney films at all, you can make the Candy Buffet look like Pixie Hollow does (wicker baskets, giant acorns filled with candies, etc... very "made from nature looking") with lots of little pixies and butterflies decorating the tables and dishes.

Here's one person who did fairies and butterflies...

I'll be honest, when I saw "Disney table names," I thought "oh boy.............." but I really like your idea! I like the concept of putting small touches in the wedding and not making overtly Disney...laying it on too thick would make it feel a bit younger and less like a wedding. Can we please make a list of appropriate Disney songs now? Because the thought of sitting at my computer listening to Disney music by myself all night is extremely appealing. Smiley smile

Alright...some sweet Disney songs that have charming titles and also reasonably wedding-appropriate lyrics:

So This Is Love - Cinderella (this is almost my favorite Disney song of all time, second only to I'll Make a Man Out of You, which kicks everything else's ass)

A Whole New World - Aladdin

Bella Notte - Lady and the Tramp

Can You Feel the Love Tonight - Lion King

Something There - Beauty and the Beast

Candle on the Water - Pete's Dragon

Kiss the Girl - The Little Mermaid

Opening up iTunes now...and will report back again, multiple times, to stalk this thread

Titles aren't as romantic as the others, but here are a few more

A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes - Cinderella again....mkay, I like her

When You Wish Upon a Star - Pinocchio

Once Upon a Dream - Sleeping Beauty

Not actually IN a movie, but it's in the credits and on the soundtrack so I think it counts:

If I Never Knew You - Pocahontas

Maybe you can come up with a little poem that includes the phrase "Be Our Guest" for the candy buffet?

Or you could name your tables based on places in Disney movies if you were trying to not be so obvious with your names. Some examples could be Sherwood Forest(Robin Hood), Neverland (Peter Pan), Pride Rock (The Lion King), 100 Acre Woods (Winnie the Pooh), Wonderland (Alice in Wonderland), Atlantica (The Little Mermaid), Cave of Wonders (Aladdin), Imperial City (Mulan), Notre Dame (Hunchback of Notre Dame), etc. Sorry! I tried to think of 15 for you but my brain stopped working. You could even include decorations that were specific to the tables. Like pixie dust on the neverland one, honey on the 100 Acre Woods One, Fish on the Atlantica one, etc.
