Opinons needed... SMORES!

Jenn, on May 2, 2013 at 10:53 AM Posted in Planning 0 28

My venue (a ski resort) has a fire pit outside on the patio. We opted to pay $75 for the evening to have someone tend to the fire to keep it going. So... we'd like to have a smores bar!

What would you all like to have at a smores bar? I checked prices of gourmet flavored marshmallows and they can be pretty pricy. So... I was going to go to BJ's or Sams Club to get stuff in bulk. What kinds of things would you like to see in a smores bar?

Marshmallow, Chocolate and Graham Crackers. And don't forget pokers for the marshmallows. Thats it'! I LOVE SMORES! We're going to do something similar as well!

We're doing a s'mores bar too Smiley smile

Not sure about the gourmet marshmallows, but planning to have a couple choices of chocolate (Hershey's Milk, Reese's PB Cups, Dark), and a couple choices for the "bread" (Graham Cracker, Biscoff Cookies).

I don't think you need to get too crazy-- S'mores are good no matter what Smiley smile

What about some chocolate graham crackers and white chocolate? Just to mix it up....

That being said I always just do plain old marshmallows, Hershey milk chocolate and regular graham crackers. I bet the cinnamon graham crackers would be good also.

We are also having a smores bar, but we went with crazy flavored marshmallows. We will have 3 kinds of chocolate, graham crackers, ginger cookies, and some other type of cookie, but haven't figured out what yet.

    Mmmm Smores!

I don't think gourmet marshmallows are necessary, maybe just a few different kinds of chocolate (dark, white, reeses, maybe cookies and cream). I also like Shannon's idea for chocolate or cinnamon graham crackers.

But really, I feel like it really doesn't get much better than the classic graham cracker/chocolate/marshmallow combo.

Omg we had a smores bar at our Luau engagement party - HUGE HIT!

We had all sorts of different stuff. the ghirardelli squares variety pack was nice for chocolate options. stop and shop had 3 different flavors of marshmallows in addition to the ones my mom and sister found. there were 2-3 kinds of graham crackers too

check out christmas tree shop too they always have some oddball items there!

Oooh we are doing this this weekend at our wedding! I went to Walmart and they had tons of king-sized candy bars- we got Reeses bars (didnt know that existed), crunch bars, cookies and cream bars, chocolate of course, andes mints, and more! Then we came across some cool flavored marshmallows- cinnamon, strawberry etc. I can tell you after this weekend what was the biggest hit!

We are having a s'mores bar too, & our venue supplies the "plain Jane" S'mores items: Hershey's chocolate, marshmallow, & graham crackers - just the way I like them Smiley winking

When I'm at home I use the Girl Scouts "Thank You" cookies & a marshmallow! Little to no mess, love it! Tastes awesome!! YOU GOTTA TRY IT!

Oh we're doing this too! We had a fire pit included with the rental so we decided why the heck not!?

    Plus I love smores!

We're just doing the plain jane smores though... they're my favorites and we'll have plenty of other treats around.
