Ordering Alcohol / Ohio

Kayla, on September 8, 2017 at 12:44 PM Posted in Ohio Planning 0 12

I tried looking in past discussions, but maybe I'm not doing it right LOL. I'm in Columbus Ohio I have no clue where to start... and I do not know where to purchase alcohol at the best prices. Wedding is 49 days away. Help Smiley smile

How willing are you to drive out of state? If you are a Costco member, both Indiana and Michigan stores sell liquor/beer/wine for significantly less than retail.

    I would look into Costco.

    Also in Columbus, Ohio!

I'm in Columbus, too! A friend who was married last year and BYOB'd to the venue went to Party Source in Kentucky (right across the river from Cincinnati - about a 2 - 2.5 hour drive from here) for her booze.

I'm also in Columbus!! Fortunately, our venue gives us the option to purchase alcohol at wholesale prices.

ETA Just realized my comment was so not helpful. I have no idea, lol. I just wanted to chime in bc I'm Cbus. Perhaps your venue contact or caterer has a recommendation? Smiley smile

Definitely check your venue for any recommendations. They may at the very least, know what past brides or grooms have done... I don't live in Ohio or anywhere remotely close, so I can't help anymore than that! Smiley sad

You could also call around to liquor stores and see if they'll offer a discount for buying in bulk. You MIGHT get lucky! Worth a shot!

I'm in Covington, KY... on the border of Cincinnati. There is a bulk liquor place in Florence, KY about 10 minutes from Cinci called Party Town that has good prices and will buy back unused alcohol.

I'm in Cleveland. The FBIL made a liquor run for us to Binny's in Chicagoland.

(Well, he was in Chicago anyway and offered to pick up what we wanted. Whatever, it worked out great.)

The savings were AMAZING -- for example, a 1.75 L bottle of Tito's for the OH price of a 750 ml bottle. So if you could do a road trip or have a Chicago connection who could hook you up, I'd recommend it!

Thanks so much guys!! I'll check into see if someone has a costco membership that I could hijack, or if maybe Party Town in Cincy? -- I like that they'll buy back. We're getting married @ The Marmalade Lily, right out side of Cincy - So that may be a great option!

We are in indiana, and i just went yesterday to stock our bar. I was informed maybe its different for indiana but in the state of indiana you can go to sams club or costco and buy alcohol, pharmacy or optical and not have to have a membership to get the club prices. Winning!!! Sams club cheap alcohol for the win by far

We are using Weiland's grocery for ordering our alcohol as well as the bartending service.
