ordering flowers online

Diana, on February 17, 2012 at 11:57 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 17

Hey all! I Was hoping you could help me. months ago I ran into a website where you can order simple bouquets already set up for your (fresh flowers) and they're delivered two days before the wedding and they come with care instructions for you to have the flowers ready and perfect on wedding day. Anyone know what I'm talking about or have the site?

They also sold roses in bulk....

That's the main thing I'm looking for. bulk, wholesale, cheap fresh flowers. Help? Smiley smile

In case you can't find the site...costco.com also sells bulk flowers for a good price. 1800 flowers also has bridal sets for $360. It depends on your budget and how many people are in your bridal party.

Whenever I have ordered bulk flowers for brides...I have always used www.theflowerexchange.com. I've never been let down by this company and they've always provided great product! They also have pre-made bouquets it's called Wedding Boxes. There are also wedding combos where you can put the bouquets and flowers together yourself.

The below pictures are all flowers that came directly from www.theflowerexchange.com

Also, with this particular bride...theflowerexhange called me 3 days prior to the flowers being delivered to tell me they weren't happy with the Gerbs. They let me know they were looking for a better bunch, but if they couldn't find one, we could choose a different flower at no extra charge. I thought that was great customer service!

I'm currently contemplating www.fiftyflowers.com I'm going to do a test order soon to see how long it takes for one of my more questionable flowers to bloom, since a lot of them appear to ship the flower unbloomed. Is that the site you are thinking of?

Thanks ladies! Sami, I don't think this is the same site but they have great prices. Can you let me know how that test order goes? I would really appreciate it!

Cydney, I looked but they just seem very pricey to me. Roses go for about a dollar a stem.... Am I crazy or is that not really a wholesale price?

I was actually REALLY concerned about this. I was link about getting most of my flowers as real touch flowers from saveoncrafts.com but, I really wanted some fresh flowers that would not break the bank and could still be delivered in a good amount of time. I think I am going to check out these sites!

@ Diana What was the site you were looking at?

Just a few things to consider with ordering flowers online- from anyone...

If there is a problem, you often can't fix it. You have to store the flowers for 2 days. That takes alot of fridge space. Buy flowers from a grocery store, and see how much they wilt if they aren't cared for properly after two days. Your wedding flowers are even more delicate.

But if something is wrong, you have no person to talk to in order to get it fixed. With a local florist, you can talk to them, and they can get replacement flowers. They also use higher quality flowers for wedding arrangements than an online florist would. An online florist sends you whatever.

Just make sure you weigh out any potential risk with the minor amount of savings you may (or may not) gain. If flowers are important to you, at all, I would urge you to consider other options.

I totally agree with Meghan....that's why I suggested Costco. We used their flowers for a friends wedding and they completely forgot to send a part of the order. All we had to do was go to the local Costco and they were able to overnight the remainder of the order.
