Ordering from ETSY.com (never did before, what should i look out for?)

Marzena, on April 17, 2012 at 11:47 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 10

I found a few necklaces that I would love to order from etsy.com for my bridesmaids & I've always been cautious about ordering from people not stores in the past, so basically I want to know what should I watch out for? or should I not worry at all about ordering from it?

I know there's a lot of links but I haven't made up my mind yet since only 3 out of 5 girls have their dresses & they're all having different styles, BUT just in case you're curious this is what I was thinking about.

Love etsy!! I usually just check the store reviews or PM the store owners to discuss the product.

Love love love etsy....Im not sure how much you want to spend but I bought my bridal necklace and bracelet from http://www.etsy.com/shop/CrystalAvenues?ref=seller_info. Both items she customized for me and she is very fast. When I would message her I would have a reply literally within 30 minutes.

Just double check the reviews and if I were you I would use PayPal. That way you'd be protected should there be any problem in not getting the product or if there is any problem with the product once you do get it.

I have ordered several items off of Etsy and have always great luck with all items off of Etsy - different vendors and have loved everything!

Good luck, although I don't think you're going to need it.

Def. use PayPal, and check the reviews before you move a step.

As the other ladies have said, just check the recent reviews of the seller, how long their shop has been open, how many sales they have had etc. I have never had an issue with anything I have ordered on etsy, which has been a lot. Just do a little homework on the seller and if you have any question about an item, ASK!

Future Mrs.Avila, I ordered my wedding jewelry from CrystalAvenues as well. Sue was amazing every step of the way and indeed was very responsive. Her jewelry was even more gorgeous in person when it arrived.

I am in love with Etsy ... I buy so much stuff from that website lol. I agree with everyone else about checking reviews and I always message the seller so they know exactly what I want.

The felted birds and the driftwood for my caketopper came from Etsy sellers - in fact when I sent an email to the seller for the driftwood asking for something specific, she offered to send me the small item I needed free of charge! I also got my necklace, earrings, vintage rhinestone bracelet, and headpiece from different sellers on Etsy. Check the reviews and the sellers profile. Some of the dreaded trash shops from China have started to infiltrate the site (although they do try to catch them) so check where shops are located if it matters to you. And as others have said, definitely use PayPal.

Oh! Make sure you do a search for pearl and rhinestone necklace under 'vintage' as well as under 'handmade'. You might get different results.
