Ordering Stamps Online?

Has anyone ever ordered stamps online from USPS directly?

I was looking at discontinued stamps I wanted really bad on Amazon for STDs (but not worth the money for a stamp) and they had horrible reviews about stamps not being packaged well and they couldn't use half the sheet because it got damaged.

I would hope USPS wouldn't have this issue, but just wanted to check and see if anyone had ordered directly from them and what your experience was. When I went for STD stamps, the post office only had a few sheets of the wedding one I liked so I don't want to have to make multiple stops if I can have them mailed to me, but also don't want to waste money on stamps if them getting messed up is common.

    I did for a baby shower I threw a few years back.
    Mine got delivered to the wrong place. USPS has a tracking feature that actually shows where packages are dropped off. Our post office lady contacted the people at that house to see if they got my stamps. They said no. She marked them out, and ordered me new ones. They came just fine.

    Yes! They were in fine condition. A few weeks later, the person who received them, brought them to me and I tried to return them. But the lost office declined. So now I have Batman stamps to use on some of our wedding stuff too. Lol

    There is a shipping fee if you order them online, which is the only reason I didn't. If you can go to an actual post office they have a whole binder/catalog of all different designs that they don't have online.

    This. I get that they have to cover the cost of shipping them, but it still felt painful to pay shipping. The main post office for my city typically has all the latest stamps and a bunch of older ones, but I've also called to see what post offices have, and they've never seemed to mind.

    I did this for our save the dates and had no issues! I'll probably do the same thing for our actual invitations.

    Well like I said, when I went to the post office for my save the dates, they had 2 sheets of the stamp I wanted, and I needed like 5. Our post offices are kind of spread out, so I would much rather pay $1.30 for shipping than make multiple stops if they don't have enough.

    I've done it once so far (StD) and it was fine. It even rained really badly the day that they were delivered and besides a tiny bit of water on 1x stamp edge the rest were perfect.

    I order stamps online from the USPS all the time and never have issues. I would rather pay a small shipping fee than waste my time running an errand and standing in line. Time is money.
