Are you planning a beach wedding in Oregon in March?

The average high temp on the Oregon Coast in March is 53 and on average there is at least some rain every day.

I have been to one beach wedding in Oregon, but it was in June and it was very windy.

Do you have an indoor location for the reception at least? That would make it more enjoyable.

    Do you live in Oregon?

An Oregon beach wedding, in June? Ha ha ha!!!

How many guests? How the hell will you do a reception on an Oregon beach? All of our beaches or open to the public. You cannot take over a portion of any beach and make your event private.

Find a reception hall and hold your reception there.

The weather is so flip floppy at the Oregon coast. It sounds so risky.

I've lived in Oregon my whole life and I wear uggs to the beach... even in August. It's windy and cold. Always.

I'm thinking you need an indoor venue, and I'm basing that opinion on what Oregon coasters have posted.

Will you need a permit for the beach? Or are you having it at a private beach that you're renting? Oregon beaches are kind of wild and windy. How will you protect your guests from the elements, such as wind, cold and heat?

Yes I do live in oregon and I will be getting a permit we are reserving a spot at the beach surprisingly you can do that. I know that bandon is usually windy all throughout the summer so I wanted to see if anyone knows of a certain area that is a little nicer during the summer

June is one of the worst months for weather all year here on central California coast, and from my limited time in Oregon, it's not much better up there. Either move it to September or October or have it inside, I'd say.

I live in Florence Oregon and I would plan a month that is almost sure not to rain

I also advise having an early wedding! Once noon hits, it's very windy

We are having our wedding up McKenzie bridge because I know it will have good weather and can depend on it more.

    Good luck!!

Oregon coast is beautiful and I love living here but very cold/windy

@Tabatha is correct that the wind starts up almost like clockwork around the 11am-12pm timeframe on a daily basis.

Our venue is located on the Oregon Coast. June is a popular time for us to do weddings here, and we rarely have any weddings rained out in June. However, the most important factor is having an indoor backup. Also be cautious because if it is windy when putting up a large tent on a beach, you won't have much success getting it up, or putting on the "walls". All of your decor such as seating chart centerpieces, place cards, linens, etc... will need to be weighed down.

My best advice to you is find an indoor venue for the reception that could double as a backup ceremony location. You can plan for your wedding on the beach, but be sure to get the necessary permits and hire a company to setup/cleanup so you won't have to do it before the reception.

My profile picture is actually a May wedding, which had beautiful weather. While it can rain at the coast, you have the same chances of it raining anywhere else in Oregon. Just be sure to have a backup plan, do not wait until the week of to figure out what that plan is!

Is there some way you can warn guests about the wind? Someone in a light spring dress would be miserable. I always have to wear at least a windbreaker jacket to go on an Oregon beach. (We're spending a July week camping in Florence and I'm bundling up.)

Thank you all for your wonderful advice!! Almost all of our guest are from oregon and we will deffinetly tell anyone out of state that it's not like a warm California beach. Jessie is a little warmer in September/October?

This sounds very much like what we wanna do except in Myrtle Beach. I would love to hear about how you're planning your reception on the beach. I wonder if there is a way to communicate privately on this website.
