Should I try to dress up a PVC pipe stand?

OR forgo the garland, and glue origami cranes onto a navy hlue backdrop.... something I haven't seen before.

I think it's a beautiful idea. I'd be inclined to say the PVC, largely because the "feet" don't show. The other styles of stands seem very noticeable. I think if you use some vines (like your inspo pic) that you can hide the PVC on the top and sides pretty well. Is there a way you can build a PVC stand without the center support, like the photo I attached?

PVC is way easier to customize to fit your space exactly how you want it to look.

@Rae, I will most likely have to ask my family for help. But possibly? I think because the paper garland should (theoretically) but lighter than a backdrop, I shouldn't need the extra support.

I agree with PP PVC would be the way to go, it's easy to assemble and you can make it any size you need. I would do one without that middle bar if possible.

I don't know.. I think you should stick with the natural wood in the photo with the leaves... I'm picturing the paper with the racks that you posted, and it may not live up to the pinterest expectation.

I love origami by the way, and highly recommend modular origami as an alternative to cranes (unless there was special symbolism in the cranes)

@Mbean... that is pretty lucky! My guess is that will be dependent on how the cranes are set up (spacing and volume), where your garland will be hanging, and lighting (i'm no photographer, but I understand that lighting can make or break a photo!)

My worry right now is that I'm using my garland as a diy photobooth, so I need to figure out lighting... after talking with my venue coordinator about where she thinks it would be a good place to put it... if it's where I think it's going to be, I need to think about the flash reflection caused by windows... that will definitely NOT be pretty. at all.....
