Orlando Honeymoon

Kelli, on January 15, 2022 at 11:02 AM Posted in Honeymoon 1 11

Okay, we decided to go with a Disney World/Universal Studios honeymoon. Booked our stay at a Universal Resort. Any suggestions on things to do, romantic restaurants, must do's that don't involve a theme park.

At Universal, I love the Palm and Bice for a nice meal (both in resorts so no need to go into the parks). My favorite non-theme park restaurants at Disney Springs are Raglan Road (not romantic, but FUN and great food) and STK (incredible steakhouse, sexy vibe).
For activities outside the parks, I’d love a pool day, spa treatments, monorail or City Walk bar crawl…

Margaritaville at City Walk is just so fun, and good food as well. (without breaking the bank) That's all I really know about Universal. I'm more of a Disney Gal. <grin> Disney Springs, I also agree about Raglan Road (we're going next week !!!) Also at the Springs is Miromotos (if you like Asian Food) and The Boathouse for a more upscale setting. Here's a great link listing every eatery available there .... https://www.wdwinfo.com/disney-springs/dining.htm Also, there are a ton of little stages that have all kinds of music performances nightly.

We love Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar at Disney Springs, we went on our honeymoon, and make it a point to go back whenever we're at Disney Smiley smile It's very fun, they have nice drinks, and good snacks. Plus, it's just fun to look at all the Indiana Jones easter eggs

You can also eat at Disney resort restaurants without a park ticket - we particularly like the Yachtsman Steakhouse (with a drink at Crew's Cup lounge beforehand)

Topilino’s breakfast at The Riviera is amazing! It’s a character breakfast (Mickey, Minnie, daisy, Donald) so it’s pricey but it is so good. Service was great and the characters were great. Easily best meal on our trip last summer. Also Yatchmans Steakhouse at the Yatch club is a favorite. It’s a signature restaurant so again it’s a little pricy.
The Italian restaurant at Universal Portofino Bay was very good and had good atmosphere. I can’t remember what it was called.
We stayed at a Disney hotel for our mini moon and only went to Universal Studios for a few hours. No parks besides that. The rest of the time was spent just chilling at the hotel with my new husband! We rented movies, sat in the hot tub, took naps. It was lovely. So, make sure you check out what activities your hotel has to offer.

I can't believe I forgot about the resorts! And the Boardwalk restaurants as well!! Olivia's in Old Key West resort has the BEST prime rib, and Trattoria Al Forno on the Boardwalk for to-die-for Italian food. Yum .... we have reservations at both of those next week.

If you want romantic with a great view California Grill at the contemporary resort is one of our favorites. We live in Orlando and go a lot. What is great is that you can see the fireworks at Magic kingdom from the restaurant. (I am also partial because we got engaged there). Disney Springs: Jaleo for Spanish food, Homecoming for great Southern food. Topollino’s for dinner is one of the best meals I have had at Disney, and you can see the Epcot fireworks from there. Bice at the Portofino is nice, and definitely a romantic atmosphere. Icon Park off International drive has a ton of great restaurants. If you want old school Italian that is really fantastic there is a restaurant called Christini’s right across from Disney Springs that has been around forever. Sorry for the long post but we eat out a lot down in these areas and love a good restaurant!
