Just wanted to show off my FH's skills!

Pinterest gave me the brilliant idea of having wooden slices as chargers. Unfortunately these jokers are like $5 a pop and with a guest list of about 180, there was no way I could afford that. But luckily I live on a farm and there was a tree that needed to be cut down that happened to be the right size. Convincing FH to spend an entire day with a chainsaw was the more difficult task. Fortunately the weather was BEAUTIFUL Sunday and I finally convinced him to begin the task of cutting 180 wood slices One HUGE diy project checked off the list! Yay!

Anyone else using wood slices for cake displays? Centerpieces? Chargers? Decor? Or just want to brag on their man?

Definitely seal the wood with some kind of finish though. I like that idea a lot. But you dont want to have bark on your linens and so on.

@Morgan We are not even close to be done with the project. Just completed with the cutting. We still have to sand and spray with lacquer. I don't want anyone to get a splinter! Just waiting on them to dry a bit before we begin the next steps.

Thanks for the tip though!

I Just Showed This To My FH And Said "You Wouldn't Do That For Me, Would You?!" And He Said "Heck No!"

On Another Note, They Look Pretty Cool! If I Were Doing A Rustic Theme, I'd Force FH Out There With A Chainsaw To Do The Same(Though We Only Have About 60 Guests)
