Our Menu + Rental Question!

Emily, on October 9, 2019 at 2:41 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 1 10
Our wedding is low-key glam but our food is upscale versions of comfort food, a lot of which is finger food. My questions is if I need to rent a full set of utensils even though they wouldn’t have much use. What would you do?

Our menu:
-Passed appetizers, finger food.

-Dinner:
Station #1: Mini Pizza Bar with Italian salad (side note, the pizzas will come in little mini pizza boxes which are the cutest things I’ve ever seen)

Station #2: Street taco bar with beans and rice.

Station #3/#4: Slider bar/Mac and cheese bar.

-Dessert:
Wedding cake, s’mores bar, and probably something else.

so, we didn’t use any utensils for our tasting because we didn’t have the salad, beans and rice. Obviously forks, and I assume knives so people can cut things up if they want? But would you rent a full set? I feel like the spoons would go to waste. These are the little details I’m starting to get mildly stressed over. Tomorrow marks 1 year away! Thanks for your input!

Man, this food looks good! Smiley love

I would still get the spoons. Some people eat beans with spoons, and they could also use it for the wedding cake if they're the picky type that doesn't like to reuse forks.

Your food looks amazing. I would get all utensils so people have options. You have plenty of time so don’t stress. I planned my entire wedding in 10 weeks by myself.

For the appetizers, what do you classify as "finger foods"? I prefer everything served to me at a cocktail hour is on a cocktail fork, a toothpick, or some kind of vessel like bread. The only thing I could see spoons used for would be beans, wedding cake, or macaroni. I would have more than 1 fork & knife per person because people probably won't reuse utensils if they go up & get different stations throughout the night. I would probably get spoons for some percentage of the guests.

Yes, you need a full set of utensils. Everything you described above could use either a fork, knife, and/or spoon, especially at a wedding when people don't want to get their hands and/or clothes dirty. The 2nd picture looks delicious but very messy; I would not eat that with my fingers.

I would get some utensils for sure! I am one of the few people who eat pizza with a fork and knife (I know weird lol) so I would appreciate it if I was a guest

I would prefer to use a spoon for the rice, beans, and mac and cheese.
