Our real first case of the sickies as Mr. & Mrs.

Alejandra, on January 24, 2020 at 4:57 PM Posted in Married Life 0 4

So hubby and I will be celebrating our first year marriage anniversary in March! Last year hubby and I made it without getting crazy sickies but this year I was hit 1st and he was hit second and ended up with bronchitis.

Boy was this fun! Lol, I love my husband immensely but it is something else when the men get sick. I mean I was still recovering from having the flu and I was taking care of him, cooking, disinfecting, walking the dog, coming to work , etc. He was off work for like 4 days and then the weekend hit so he had like 6 days off, lol I remember that Sunday before he was set to go back to work, he told me how exhausted he was all day and how all he wanted to do was stay in bed and go in and out of sleep. I totally understand how being sick can take so much out of you and leave you feeling drained, but it cracked me up because all day Saturday he had been in bed too. I burst out laughing and told him Babe, you haven't done squat all week, what are you so tired of? Haha we both laughed but I told him I understood and wanted him to be fully recovered so of course go ahead and rest but man oh man it took me two full weeks to fully recover because I had to jump into Doctor Wifey mode. I am getting a cool date night this weekend because of my tremendous care taking skills!

Share your first encounters with your partner being sick.

I think a lot of men are like what you described. But my FH has stomach problems once in awhile, but they can get bad if for instance he eats too much food before bed. We went to my work Christmas party last year and they had a ton of leftover cheese curds. So we took a box home, after awhile he got hungry. I don't blame dinner was small and sucked. So he heated up the curds. A couple hours later we are in bed and suddenly he is like I don't feel good; disclaimer we had some to drink but that much. He gets out of bed, I stayed where I was. All of the sudden I hear him throwing up. Like it sounds so violent! Like loud and painful. I'm like are you ok. He's like I'm fine. I feel better now and brushes his teeth and goes back to bed. I have gotten use to it, but it just sounds so violent. And I can't go help because if I see someone throw up I throw up. Our dog literally barks at my FH when he throws up because of how loud it is.

Lol, oh no poor thing. My hubby gets strong stomach pains when he over eats as well and can only relief himself by vomiting. I also hear that violent sound and think geesh did you just throw up a lung? He'll then brush his teeth, chug some mineral or sparkling water and go back to sleep.

Exactly it sounds like a vital organ is coming up. I'm glad mine isn't the only one!

My hubby was sick for our wedding! Talk about “in sickness or in health.” 😝 He got sick two days before, rallied for our wedding like a champ, spend the first entire day of our mini-moon in bed.
