Outdoor ceremomy plus unity candle

chelsie, on March 13, 2018 at 9:12 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 5
We're having our ceremony outdoors memorial day weekend and I'm stuck on what to do for the unity part in our ceremony. Normally I would just do a candle, but with it being outdoors that makes me nervous. Ex-what if it's windy and doesn't light? I don't want to do a rope, sand or wine just because what do you do with that type of stuff after the ceremony? Not really wanting to clutter my house more. I'm open to anything else!

Thank you!

One thought - put the candle in tall vases and only take them out to light? That would keep them from blowing out. You can also get candles with longer stronger wicks to prevent the problem.

If youre still not tied to that. Have you ever seen the ‘tying the knot’ portion of the wedding? It’s not very common but is an old (I believe Presbyterian) tradition. If it’s a religious ceremony the minister would use their atoms to tie your hands together (briefly) and bless the union. My dad (minister) has done this and it’s very wonderful.

Atoms = stole. Sorry that’s confusing.

Idk if your religious or not but me and my husband are doing a unity cross. I ordered it online. You peice it together and it will make a great decoration and reminder of your big day later on in the years ☺️https://unitycross.com/

Our ceremony is outdoors too and we are doing a tree planting ceremony. We both will have our own bowls of dirt and little hand shovels that we will use to scoop some dirt into a large pot with seeds. I also found these cute little watering cans for cheap at michaels so we can water them after putting our dirt in. We plan to do a pine tree so we can eventually plant it in our yard and decorate it every Christmas.
