What are you guys using to prevent the aisle runner from blowing away or scrunching up as you walk down the aisle????

I’m having an outside ceremony as well and wanted to have an aisle runner but my venue said they don’t work. They said it doesn’t work with shoes and staying down and what not. Kinda stinks but it might not be worth it.

I’m wondering the same 🤔 Some aisle runners have adhesive bottom side, so you can stick them onto a hard outdoor surface to prevent wrinkling etc. Our ceremony will be in our venue’s garden & garden is covered with short grass, so adhesive won’t work. There are also very heavy aisle runners that won’t move, but they are much more expensive & more importantly our venue doesn’t allow them to be placed on the grass. So I will likely just use lots of rose petals (my favorite flower) to mark the aisle 🤷🏻‍♀️

There are several “stake” type options you can choose from for this. You can order them online to blend in with your runner or stand out as a decorative piece. Just google “wedding aisle runner stakes” and you will get several options. There are also companies that they heavier runners that shouldn’t bunch or blow away.

We had a burlap one outdoors. It stayed put as far as I remember. Got it from amazon.

I've seen ones with stakes all along the sides, but where I'll be walking is a bit un-level, so I'm honestly a little afraid that one of the girls (or I) would snag a heel on it. If it's not windy, I've seen people scatter petals either randomly or in an artistic kind of pattern down the aisle, and that looked really gorgeous.

I was planning on maybe having the inner chairs just overlap it a tad so it would ideally stay down

A friend of mine sewed fabric weights in the corners and a couple along the sides of her outdoor aisle runner. You can find these easily at craft stores such as Joann or Michaels.
