Outdoor ceremony entrance

jewels86, on January 29, 2014 at 8:37 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 11

We are having our ceremony in a park with really no place to ''enter'' from. I've seen the fake doors set up but I have no idea how to go about constructing one. Has anyone had experience with this or any ideas how to go about making one?? Thanks

Are there bushes or trees or something you could walk in from behind? that's basically what I did.

We're entering on a "path" with plants lining it

Kahlcara - nope! lol It wasn't something we had thought about when we reserved the park. All we were thinking at the time was that we wanted to be married outdoors.. I dont like the thought of the bridal party just gathering awkwardly behind the seating waiting for the ceremony to start... Seems too weird

Almostmrsking - that would be a great idea but nowhere for the path to come out from.

I've seen people put up a small tent where the bride and bridal party can hang out before the ceremony, and then make their entrance from there.

You might be able to find a rental place where you can rent doors from. I am guessing they are harder to make than they look. . .

I used doors for our ceremony, not for the entrance but at the alter because ours was outside too. I found the doors on craigslist & a old antique type store for really cheap! Just painted them and done Smiley smile Used L brackets to keep them free standing

Definitely check online, like craigslist. You can always just by doors from a home improvement store if you can't find anything you like. Just paint, distress & enjoy!

You could rent columns to put on each side of the path. Them decorate it with plants or flowers.

HopeRebecca- I'm looking to incorporate free standing doors into my outdoor ceremony- Do you have pictures that you can share as to how it turned out? I'm not sure what L brackets are! I wonder if other brides who have done this will resell them too...
