Outdoor Venues

So this is a photo of the outdoor Ramada area that we can rent out (with a special event permit) for just around $550.
It’s not the price that has me m jumping up and down with excitement- I’m completely torn as to decorating. I’m living on Pinterest trying to get ideas. There’s about 8 to 10 of those metal picnic tables and I’m a little dumbfounded as to how you can dress them up for a wedding reception- or use them for just food and serving- and rent out a few tables and chairs? With being on a strict and tight budget, and no family to help my fiancé and I financially with the wedding- I’m looking for feedback seeing as how a lot of the decor will be DiY on how to really spruce up the area without having to break the bank. I was thinking of using the color palette we’ve chosen of Burgundy, Blush, Rose Gold, and Navy Blue.

I’ve seen several of these on TikTok where they use pipe and drape from Amazon for very little money. But without assistance, you’re going to have to go Thumbtack or Yelp to find event staffing to set up and tear down for you because the DIY will cut into your personal getting ready and photo time. Be aware that a majority of DIY is not cost effective because people don’t realize or care that your time, sanity, and lack of skills must be counted at minimum wage per hour in addition to cost of supplies.

Picnic tables are going to be a challenge for anyone in a dress to sit at. How many guests do you have?

I’ve been to numerous weddings and events at park pavilions. I’m trying to think of my top suggestions…🤔
I would suggest that you embrace the rustic casual vibe of the space and not try too hard to fight against it, that will only cost you time and money and stress.
I would keep decor to a minimum. Outdoor Venues 2

Definitely budget some extra time to get everything set up. I would highly suggest to hire someone to set up and tear down everything for you.

Make sure to let your guests know that you will be utilizing the picnic tables and to dress comfortably. I would arrange to have at least a few chairs for elderly guests.

When I helped my cousin with her park wedding we brought a ton of stuff with us to the pavilion the night before such as brooms to sweep, cleaning supplies and toilet paper for the bathrooms just in case. Hammers, tacks, nails, tape etc. She was allowed to hang stuff from the poles and ceiling. We just draped some tulle around the inside edge of the pavilion but it took longer than we had anticipated just to do that.

Make sure you plan out whatever coolers and chafing dishes etc you will need. She designated two tables for food and one table for the cake and drinks. She planned for three people on the sides of each picnic table because you need extra room to get up and down from those tables.
