Outdoor wedding and previous rain 😟

I want to cry!

The wedding is this weekend and the ceremony venue is practically ruined but my fiance don't think so. I'm having an outdoor wedding Garden themed with a lovely pond and a waterfall. There was an extreme down pour today causing a flash flood warning in the city. I decided to go to the ceremony site just to take a look at it after all the rain because I was so nervous about the grass being muddy. I went to the site and the grass was not an issue. The issue was the pond water, it was murky brown, gnats gather nearby the frogs and fish in the pond were no longer in site. The once beautiful cobblestone walkway was flooded. I couldn't help but be in tears. My fiance is my rock so strong and so optimistic and told me to relax because it's still the beginning of the week and things could change. I was so worried about it raining the day of and he said if it do it'll make nice photos and the bridesmaids can wear cute colorful rain boots I like the idea and it's actually cute but that was not in my vision. The forecast is predicting rain the day before the wedding and a half hour after the ceremony is over. Day of precipitation 30%. Day before precipitation 30%. Will the pond clear up?
The ceremony site have no connection with the reception site I receive a permit from the city to have my wedding in the park.

Should I move the ceremony indoors? Theirs a fee to move it indoors it'll be in the room with the reception. With the wedding being 5 days away I have to rethink the aisle decor. What would you do?

I can't help but be nervous and stress about it so much that I been having terrible headaches. I can feel the stress acne forming. Any advice is helpful.

I definitely think you shouldn't worry about the pond...its Monday and you have time for it to clear up. I doubt every time it rains the pond takes a long time to bounce back.

However, I would consider getting a backup indoor venue...half an hour after the ceremony is very close and since it's still quite a few days away, that estimate could completely change- to days later, to not at all or to during your ceremony!

I coincidentally just posted a question about how brides are dealing with weather anxiety...so I totally understand your fear!

That stinks. But I would recommend NOT going to the site any more. Stop stressing yourself out even more. The day of everyone will be looking at you, not the pond!

Aww 😞 dont cry. I know its crunch time and it's easy to have the little thing stress you out but dont worry so hard you'll get stress bumps. That pond will become calm the day of your wedding and just check with the venue staff about the "condition of their space since the rain". Everything will be fine, tpu still have time for it to dry.

I'm so sorry. I agree with your fiance too relax. While it doesn't seem like it now, this will be something you'll have to talk about afterwards "remember that gnat pond." Regardless if your wedding is outside or inside or in a dungeon or wherever it will be a special day and you should try to remember that.
The planner in me is saying yes, you should have a plan B. The conditions could very well change on your wedding date. But if you have an alternative now you save yourself from morning of angst.

Will they set things up for you indoors if it rains that day or is supposed to rain? If so, you already have a back up and your aisle decor will look just fine. What matters in the end is that you get married.
My sister had rain the day of her outside wedding. It washed the chairs away to a different point on the property. They did move everything inside a tent, but tent ended up flooding also. In the end, there was no back up and we just had to roll with it. It will be okay and your day will be wonderful!

I'm getting married outdoors this Saturday too and I've basically figured out that the ground just might be too soggy to do outside, even if it doesn't rain on the actual day.

My venue has a backup ceremony room so I don't have to worry but if they didn't I would definitely just spend the extra money to have the plan B. You will stress so much less if you know you have options. Besides, you know how it goes: if you pay for it, it will probably be gorgeous on you wedding day and you won't need it - but if you don't get it you'll end up needing it. So no matter what just get the backup and you will stress less.

Besides - rain is supposed to be good luck on your wedding day !

(Of course I'd rather my original plan were happening but I'm not going to get stressed over something that can't be changed and neither should you.

    Congrats and good luck!

You have to consider your vision of course. You ask what we would do... I would plan to get wet and have an umbrella and have the BM's get cute boots and just go with the flow because rain on your wedding day is supposed to be good luck.

It sounds like you should plan to move it indoors, pay the fee, work with your team and come up with a plan for the aisle decor. Get a solid indoor plan because having that will relieve some of this stress. But maybe make some changes to embrace the weather in a positive way.
