Outdoor Wedding Entrance

Kirsten, on February 10, 2017 at 7:34 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 5

We are having an outdoor wedding at a park and I still want to make a grand entrance but there's no real place to stay hidden. The best idea I've come up with is for my bridesmaids and I to all hold a handful of balloons to hide mostly me but them as well as we walk over and they will each release their balloons right before they start walking down the aisle and obviously I will be the last one. Does this sound pretty? Would something else look prettier? I thought about cute umbrellas too but I think the balloons floating away would look prettier for the actual entrance plus I'm guessing they will end up being cheaper. I originally wanted to do a horse carriage but they are all too expensive for me.

Also, I personally don't like the idea of hiding in a tent while everyone arrives and I think a barrier would look awful they way everything is situated at our location so I'm not looking for anything like that.

I feel like releasing a bunch of helium balloons is considered littering and a park wouldn't allow that.

You may want to let vendors respond. They could offer some ideas that they have seen and worked with.

I've seen free-standing double doors used in vineyard weddings--you could rent those. I think the balloons could be a choking hazard for local wildlife.

I was in a wedding where the bridal party just stayed in the limo until time to go down the aisle. Is that an option for you?

I'll have to ask about the balloons, but there haven't been very many weddings at this location in the past, just receptions in the lodge where we are having ours. Also, I'm really tight on my budget so I'm trying to hold off on renting a car until after the reception when we leave since everything is within walking distance.
