Outdoor wedding generator help

Hello ladies! I could really use your help! We are having an outdoor wedding with the tent reception, but we're having such a hard time figuring out what we're supposed to do for power! Initially, the simplest answer is to just rent a generator, but does anyone have experience with that? I've read online that I should use an "inverter" generator, not one of the gas ones you use when the power goes out, but I really need some help! I definitely don't want to run the risk of having the power go out in the middle of our wedding! Does anybody have any advice/experience? Especially any newly married brides who had outdoor weddings? Thank you!

Have you discussed this with your tent vendor? They should be able to help.
Failing that, go to your local tool rental place and see what they have and what they recommend. Be sure to see and hear them in operation so you know which is the quieter model.
