Outdoor Wedding Speaker System

Private User, on April 20, 2015 at 5:11 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 7

Okay ladies! My wedding will be outside and what I had thought would work for my sound system (renting it from somewhere local) isn't going to work the way I had thought it would... I am needing examples of what everyone else is using/has used for a small speaker system (just enough for some music playing before ceremony and speaking during the ceremony). Does a normal stereo (if I can find someone's to borrow who's has a microphone jack) work alright and maybe add a couple more speakers? Or do I need to look into something larger? Please help!

First of all, you will hear it a lot but you should change your profile picture. It doesn't have to be you. It could be something off of Google lol. Second, we are still figuring this out but for our venue, we have the perfect setup for speakers and what not so we're really excited.

We are having a string trio for our ceremony music but are paying $200 for our DJ to provide a sound system.

I may contact my DJ about the sound system, only problem is that I don't know if they would have enough equipment, not to mention having to move it from ceremony site to reception site. Also I run back into the issue of having to run an extension cord like 750 feet. I ordered a cordless karaoke mic off of Target, I thought I would see if I could get it to work on one of our stereos and see what the quality was. I'm hoping a stereo would run off of a power inverter? Still up for suggestions!
