Outdoor Wedding

The brides that are planning a outside wedding, do y’all have a backup plan if the weather is bad? My plan B is the courthouse for the ceremony🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️

Absolutely no back up plan, stuff everyone in the small saloon maybe?😳 haven’t thought that far, hoping it doesn’t do anything crazy on the mountain, weather should be nice!! 🤞

My venue has 2 spaces: 1 outdoor, 1 indoor! Perfect for our late april wedding!

Or you can rent a tent instead of a courthouse .

Eloping on the beach... so nope LOL. Crossing my fingers for amazing weather... honestly, I would even be okay with a slight drizzle, as long as it doesn’t pour down!

Same with me, the plan is to have the ceremony on the lawn, but they can move it into the ballroom in case of rain.

Our ceremony is on the beach and the reception is right behind at the hotel on their rooftop. So everything is outside. We live in San Diego and weather is nice year-round. However, we do get occasional rain (although not much in October). But, if so, we’d have to hold everything inside of the hotel (which would suck and take away from the vibe we want). So I’m praying for clear skies.

That was smart..my venue is so pretty but I might just get married at the restaurant where I’m having my dinner at if it rains.

Would you be taking all your guests to the courthouse with you?

Our venue has a lovely indoor option which I prefer. However my husband preferred the outdoor option and the indoor option is a little extra.

We are getting married in up in the mountains, but if we wake up on the day of and the weather is horrendous: we will be getting married at our reception venue. It will be beautiful either way, just different.

Heck yes! Always need a Plan B, you never know if the weather will be crazy. Our ceremony is planned to be outside, but if it’s rainy our plan B is to hold it under the tent. And if the weather is really bad, like thunderstorm status, plan C is to do it in the reception building.

Haven’t really thought about it. Our venue is doing both the reception and the outside ceremony so we could move in doors if need to

There is an indoor option at our venue, and their policy is to make the final decision the day before (fingers crossed!).

My fiance really wanted an outdoor ceremony and so that's what we're having, but the compromise was that the venue we chose HAD to have an indoor option just in case.

One place we went to only had a pergola with open sides, and whilst the guests would have fitted, the bride and groom wouldn't have. Then the walk from the getting ready space to the ceremony space would have left you soaked as well - so that option was out.

My ceremony is outside and the reception inside. Hope the weather is good for my wedding next year in May. I live in Alaska and the weather changes like crazy. But in case bad weather i might rent out a event tent for the ceremony.

Congratulations to you all. Our venue is at a beach club on the patio. We will wait until it clears up or step inside.

Yes, we're looking at venues over the next two weekends and we'll be looking to make sure all guests can fit inside in case it rains and that the DOC will make sure chairs are moved inside if so. I'm not gonna have guests moving their own chairs. It'll be simple for us because our guest list will only be ~60 people.

It rained for my first wedding, because we were waiting for my late ex-MIL, so we had to move it inside. There were 300 guests, so it was standing room only. I'm still pissed about that, 10 years later. I didn't plan for rain even though I knew it was a possibility.

Our wedding was outside at an athletic club. They actually installed a large tent in the garden area last year because of the pandemic. If the tent wasn't there, it would pretty much just have been people huddling under large umbrellas. Unless you're getting married on the beach or at a park or something, your venue will likely have a contingency plan for rain so you can ask them about it. If that's not a thing, then renting a party tent might be a good idea.

Our venue has an indoor area we can use if we need it, I'm only inviting 80 people and that is small enough for us to do the ceremony and reception inside if need be. Congartulations!
