Outfits for engagement shoot

I found my dress on Amazon and my husband wore a suit he had, he matched the shirt with my dress and his tie with my shoes.

I loved our outfits!! We coordinated it with the location of the photos.

I couldnt decide on outfits so we did two different one! We had a pretty, simple dress outfit. Then our other outfit was more casual. I chose them because I wanted it to bounce of the color of my stone! My ring is aquamarine, I wanted blue to be the main color and use other colors like beige and white to make it pop out more in both of our clothes.

I did 3 outfit changes for ours. i loved all the outfits but the 3rd one which is the lace romper was barely in any pics because of wardrobe malfunctions lol. i think i would’ve done a different romper for ours but i loved our outfits and our photos! it’s all about what reflects you guys!

I recommend keeping in mind the location and season. We had ours done in a vineyard in May so I knew there would be a lot of green foliage in our pictures. For this reason, I wanted a pastel or white dress. I chose white so I could wear it again at my bridal shower. I kept him in a pastel shirt as well.

There will be a lot of angles so make sure you like how you look from all angles in the outfit you choose! Try sitting in it too. And think about how much cleavage it would show from a top angle. Take a few sample shots outside too where someone else takes a fully body shot for you. Just make sure you are really comfortable in what you chose!

My fiance and I are actually getting our engagement pictures done next Saturday and I think I finally just decided what we're going to wear. We have 2 locations so for the first, which is at a friends pond, I'm wearing a dark blue maxi dress with white flowers and he'll be wearing a light blue dress shirt with jeans. The second location is right down the road from the first and it's a couple of little waterfalls so I'll be changing into jean shorts and a white tank top and he'll be wearing a white polo and either jeans or khaki shorts. That way we'll have some more casual photos as well as the more formal looking ones. If you're looking to coordinate but not be too matchy I'd say figure out what you plan to wear first and then his outfit can be based off that. My fiance literally told me to just pick out what I wanted him to wear and he'd wear it lol I'm sure whatever you decide you'll look beautiful!! Good luck!

Best advice is just to wear something that makes you feel beautiful yet comfortable.

I would do solid colors that do not match or blend with the background .

We are doing a mix of industrial/city background and some garden/natural ones. I’m thinking we will have some teal with neutrals — I think that’ll pop nicely in both locations!

We haven't even done our engagement shoot yet, HOWEVER! I got lucky. My photographer is providing us with 2 sessions and then I have a friend who is going to do an adventure session with us. That will take a few weeks to put together. So 2 different people and 2 different styles. As far as out fits, I haven't decided that either. But I know We will be packing a bag just in case. I know one location it will be a weekend event! Have fun with it. regret or not.

I think bold colors pop so if that’s something that interests you go for it, but have the other person tone it down. Busy patterns could distract. Most importantly wear something you feel comfortable in! And have fun.

We actually had our engagement photos done before we were engaged 😬. We were in New Orleans checking out the venue we were quite obsessed with online, and wanted to see if we loved it in person, or could forget about it and look elsewhere, so while we were down there, we had a photographer take photos that we would hopefully use on our save the dates for a NOLA wedding. It all worked out thankfully! We had one outfit, although I switched it up a bit by taking my jacket off for some photos. Coordinated, but didn’t match.

If I could change anything about our outfits it would be the undergarments I chose to wear under my dress. I went with a body shaper with a weird strapless bra so in certain shots I feel my chest looks awkward. We went with two solid colors that complemented where we took our photos and love how we look color wise.
