Outside Bridal shower- its rained 15 days straight- HELP

rebekah, on May 12, 2016 at 12:10 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 8

I've been planning a bridal shower for my friend for months now as an outside event, I even have a tent. The weather forecast says it will be party cloudy with an rain in the afternoon (when the shower is), worse than that its rained 15 days straight so the ground is soggy. What are some (low cost/last minute) solutions to fix the ground? The tent can shield us from the rain but I don't want the ground to pose an issue. I've rented so much for the occasion that it won't fit in my house. I am desperate right now for ideas.

Is there someone else's house that you may use? Or a room you can rent in a restaurant?

Not that I'm aware of. Invites went out forever ago and people were pretty hard to get in touch with, so I'm afraid that most the people won't get the message if I do move it- especially since its the day after tomorrow.

Can you put down ply wood or some other flooring type thing? That's the only thing I can think of other than moving the location

Rent a dance floor (if you can) or outdoor turf.

I would try to find a location with pavement. You could rent dance floor tiles for the ground but if they get dirty the rental company will probably charge you for getting them muddy.

Ply wood sounds like a pretty good idea. The rental company I have booked now says you can't change your order this late in the game.

Do you have tent walls? If you don't it might be a good idea. For the ground, plywood could get slippery?

Didn't think of the ply wood getting slippery.. thanks for the idea Smiley smile I'm in contact with the rental vendor now. Yes, I have walls on the tent- thank goodness.
