This is super weird because as of right now, taking into account the declines we've received so far, we are at EXACTLY 126 hahaha. We invited 132 but 8 declined so far... still have 88 that have not RSVPd yet though, so will more than likely end up being under 126 in the end Smiley tongue

Rough estimate on paper, there COULD BE 230-ish mouths to feed, but definitely expecting declines. There's some travel involved for a few, and we will see them a month later at Thanksgiving. I'm wondering how people are getting away with only inviting 50-100 people?!

"Courtesy" invites is exactly it! We will see people that would need to travel a month later at Thanksgiving, so it's all good if they don't come Smiley smile

Lol! I'm on the other end of the spectrum and wondering how people only invite 50-100?! To get our venue ( a hotel) we need a minimum of $3,000 in food and beverage (that's off-peak season, it's $6,000 minimum for peak wedding season). @ $30 bucks a head on average, we will definitely hit that. Here, venues are expensive if you want help without having to do all of the legwork (finding linens, tables, chairs, a caterer, etc.). It's a one stop shop with a hotel and so worth it.

Definitely under. Our goal is between 40-50 just our closest family and friends. But I think I’m going to budget for 60 people. I’m sure there will be people who didn’t make the cut that we may want to squeeze in down the line.

Close! We're inviting 115 people, assuming about 100 people will come to the wedding.

Our catering contract is for between 100 and 115 so we will be somewhere in there. We are sending out 116 invites because my godmother is in assisted living and is no longer able to make it across town much less a state away to where I live. We want her to know that she is wanted but we are also including a note that we will bring the video to her because we dont want her to stress about travel when it is so hard for her.

We also have a lot of friends that have threatened to crash the ceremony (since it is literally the food that is keeping the guest list so small) and we told them we wouldnt turn them away if they did show up. Same with the people that said they were crashing after dinner is over.

We wanted 50-75. We're inviting 100 but I'm thinking only 75 will show. And yes, compared to many others I've spoken with, this is small

So for me at least my venue has a minimum but its a combined food & beverage and lodging and the minimum for my Saturday, off-peak wedding is $9000 which we are hitting fairly easily between catering, bar service, the event space, and lodging plus their fees and such. I'd love to invite more people, to be fair it wouldn't be many more, but we just don't have the funds to go over the 11,000 which includes all that.
