How many wedding vendors are you planning on booking? Have you been able to double-up on any services with one company? Are you over or under the average of 14 vendors in your vendor team?

    Under:

Ceremony and reception are a few months apart and we have...

2 venues (one does the food and alcohol for us)
    2 different photographers
    2 different DJ's
    1 officiant
    1 videographer
1 caterer/bartender from the same place

And I'm doing my own flowers, so no florist.

Under if not counting dress vendor, suits vendor or bridesmaids dress vendor. I think we stand at 10 currently. Venue, florist, photographer, videographer, cake baker, cookie baker for favors, rental company for lounge furniture, DJ/photo booth, officiant, and ceremony music

Lets see... I think we have 9. Our venue covers a lot for us which has made everything a lot easier to coordinate.

Our venue includes a lot, but not everything. I think it will end up being about 8 vendors.

Under, we have 7. The venue is also the caterer and bar as well. I’m also doing the flowers myself so that cut another vendor.

We're under, but that's mostly because our venue also takes care of the catering and cake as well, and includes a day-of coordinator too.

Definitely under because our caterers are rock stars. They are providing the food, cake, rentals, a month of coordinator, bartenders (we are wholesaling the alcohol so we can keep it after/return it), decor, set up, tear down.

    So we have hired:

    1. Church (which includes officiant, choir, and organist) - it is the church I attend very regularly and so we get a huge discount which helps

    2. Reception castle

    3. Caterer

    4. Seamstress specializing in Heirloom gowns for my dress which was my Grandma's

And are still looking for :

    5. HMUA

    6. Videographer

    7. Florist??? We are only doing altar arrangements for the church - we already have trees for centerpieces and acrylic snowflake bouquets - so we are thinking about just using the church's regular florist because they know the space and do a great job decorating for Sundays (plus we are donating them for services the next morning so I want to make sure they arent loosing out on a week's work for the church).

We have a friend who is a pro photographer who is gifting us our photography and another who used to DJ and still has all his equipment that he is lending us and we will be DIYing our playlist. We told our wedding party to pick out what ever they wanted to wear in our colors with a couple guideline (what you would wear to the Yule Ball if you went to Hogwarts - but long sleeves for the church because it is very old and can be cold and shoes you will be warm enough in in the snow for pictures - no frostbite!) and my fiancee is looking to just purchase a waistcoat suit.

Just under 14! Venue, photographer, videographer, caterer, bartending/setup help, day-of coordinator, hair, makeup, DJ, possible baker (I'm doing some desserts and we haven't decided if we're hiring a baker to help with the others)

That's so nice, Kristin!! Does any of that play into why you chose your venue?

So, it's funny. A lot of things I read said to not pick a venue that is inclusive so that you can shop around for the best pricing for food, drinks, decor, linens/tables/chairs, etc. But after we toured a bunch of inclusive venues, the thought of trying to coordinate all of those vendors sounded really time-consuming and difficult! We definitely picked our venue in part because it was kind of a one-stop-shop for a lot of the things we need!

Definitely under. Our venue does the ceremony, cake, food, alcohol, limo, lighting, tables and linens. We made our own centerpieces, our friend is the officiant and another friend is the photographer. So we are paying: venue, photographer, dj, hotel (who is providing transport for guests) and florist
