Under! Our reception was three hours long - a cocktail style reception with music, but no dance party.

Cocktail hour plus 3 hours of actual reception. We have lots of children in our family, so we wanted to have a daytime event that would make it doable for everyone.

Planning on 5 1/2 but it may end at 4 1/2 or 5 since it’s a Sunday. So at or over.

Over! 2-2:30 for ceremony, 2:30-4 for cocktail hour (doing Geeks Who Drink Trivia for an hour of it), accouncements, toasts, etc starting at 4, and dinner service starting at 4:30. Kicking every one out by 9.

Every venue here is 3 hours for reception unless you pay for extra time, and it's 3 1/2 hours if you have the ceremony there too.

Thanks for asking! I'm a little nervous it might be too much time since we aren't doing a bouquet toss or garter toss...but oh well!

We are having an open bar but we are thinking of advertising signature drinks. For passed appetizers, we are doing mini crab cakes, tomato and basil bruschetta, spanakopita, tenderloin slices with horseradish drizzle and something else. For stationed appetizers, we are having a veggie display with dipping sauces and antipasto setting!

    All the food! Smiley smile

Hi AlmostOliviera! So true, lucky for you and your guests, the party doesn't have to end and you can all dance the night away!

Hi AQuixoticBride! Your reception sounds lovely and super unique! Cocktail- style seems very laid back and romantic, I bet it was super fun to spend time with your family, friends, and loved ones this way! What was your venue like? Did you have a signature cocktail? Smiley smile

No stress about the bouquet toss or garter toss... they're not essential & honestly don't take up much time when they are included. Now you'll just have more time to dance the night away, be with your family & friends, and have fun at your reception. You and your guests will have such a great time. Smiley heart Smiley smile

That's great! Your appetizers sound fabulous too. Yes, all the food! And can't ever go wrong with a variety of tasty bites. Thank you for sharing!
