I hope to use "Lovin' you is fun" by Easton Corbin.

I want us to shag to it, if FH will learn how. It's not a traditional shag song like Carolina Girls or Beach Music, but it the counts would work. (Shag is our state dance, not sex....I feel like I always need to say that)
@GameCox-- that is FH's song for me!!! He always sings it to me when he's drunk haha.
Ours will be Love Your Love the Most by Eric Church. It describes us perfectly. And there's a version where he sings "I love Husker football games" instead of "I love college football games". The Huskers are FH's favorite team so I'm going to surprise him by using that version
I just love it PHL! It's SO Carolina (both of them actually) and it's smooth and it's different than swaying back and forth with each other without having the mad face that the music changed and going into a choreographed dance.
Our was probably used "far too much" but it really meant a lot to DH after he explained why he wanted that song. It was "The Way you Look tonight" I wouldn't have had it any other way :-)
@GameCox That is true! He's a born and raised carolinian! I think it would be nice but he'll have to teach me and it is a nice way to be a little different but not crazyy
A German friend of mine told me that in Germany, the first dance has to be a waltz. So, when I originally started looking, I thought using a waltz might be a good way to get me and FH actually *dancing*, and not just standing and swaying. The two waltzes I found that were actually nice and romantic and entertaining (not just classical musical pieces) were:
Fiona Apple - "Better than Fine"
Jacques Brel - "La valse a mille temps" (fans of Joseph Gordon-Levitt can see him cover this song here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UhPtJ5-gQsE)
We ended up going with something more personal to us (the theme to Twin Peaks), but I still like both of those as a first dance but doubt I'll ever hear of them being used at any wedding.
