Overlay, runner, or both?

I just left my venue to drop some money off toward the wedding. I was sitting down with my DOC and she asked me about my colors. I picked them out, but forgot to call and tell her. I told her I like the overlay option with the white underneath the navy blue overlay better than the tablecloth BUT I also like runners as well. So I was thinking, if I had about 6 tables do you guys think it would look too all over the place if I were to do 3 tables with a runner and 3 with an overlay, OR should I just stick to one for a more uniform look?
