Overwhelming

MLS, on February 28, 2021 at 6:20 PM Posted in Planning 1 4
I have a diagnosed anxiety disorder and then with covid anxiety I'm overwhelmed. I'm planning my September wedding, and vendors ask me questions and to make decisions. I get so overwhelmed by this part of the planning.

I started freaking out when all the things that have to get done started presenting themselves! Add your anxiety disorder & I’d start getting very overwhelmed! I was getting easily sidetracked- start with one project, than start on another. Before I knew it I was all over the place! I love WW for these forums but I use The Knot for my wedding website. Their wedding checklist is amazing! My fiancé put his foot down- absolutely no changes after final decisions have been made. I start one project & see it though before starting another.

I can totally relate. I came off my anxiety/depression medication in August 2019 having no idea I was going to lose my job/all this wedding craziness/soooo many other things just months later. Now looking into getting back on them because i am struggling so bad. There are a lot of natural remedies and supplements for it, and talking to a therapist (or venting to anyone) can help a lot

I also struggle with this. I'm trying to break up my wedding planning activities so they're not all lumped together, or else I'll be super stressed. For example the weekend before last my mom and I went to find her dress and got some fake flowers and decorations. This weekend we booked our photographer and gathered everyone's address for invitations. Next weekend I'll be going with my bridesmaids to try their dresses.
I've noticed that it also gets me really stressed when people direct all questions to me because I'm the 'bride' and don't include my future wife in the questions. For example, a few weeks ago my grandma was absolutely grilling me with questions about flowers because she's paying for them. I got so overwhelmed because I didn't know everything I wanted and she kept saying I should k ow because it's my wedding. Later that night one of my bridesmaids kept asking me questions about what I wanted for certain things and I had to tell her no more wedding talk for the night 😆

Can you get someone to help you who you really trust? I had my mom to take care of a few key areas while I focused on others. Or somethings I would just talk her through my choices and having a listening ear really helps.
