P90X vs Insanity

Vivian, on July 17, 2017 at 6:52 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 13

Trying to lose 35 lbs for my wedding in 10 months. I already do zumba 2 times a week for 1 hr. I will like to buy a weight loss program to do while home.

Im debating on witch one to buy P90X or Insanity. ANY EXPERIENCE??

I downloaded insanity to try it out. They are very different. I like the insanity personally. Just depends on you.

I've done P90X and Shaun T's T25 but not insanity. You can get access to both and all the other beachbody workouts for a monthly membership though - that way you can mix it up and not get bored.

Unfortunately weight loss is mostly food related. You'll see much better results if you go on a diet and count calories. I'd recommend myfitnesspal to help you track that.

I've done both. I personally like Insanity better. It's definitely not a "fun" workout but you will see results if you stick to it and the food program. Good luck!

I've done both. I like insanity better because I can feel it more. P90x has a few workouts that are like 1.25 hours and I just ain't got that kinda time some days. Just drinks loads of water. I cut out all other drinks except black coffee or caffeinated tea. It's the fastest way to shock your system and rid all the icky toxins

I've done both but prefer P90X. Depending on your current weight, 35 pounds is a considerable amount to lose. You didn't mention what your regular eating habits are. Just want to point out it is absolutely true 80% (or higher) of weight loss will be due to your nutrition plan. If you are eating processed foods, sugar, lots of carbs, drinking liquor, etc. and not getting enough protein you're not going to drop any significant weight whether you Zumba and P90x all day long. So if you don't have that covered I suggest speaking with a nutritionist or your doctor for a meal plan that works for you. The book Body for Life is also great to purchase.

Insanity doesn't require any weights or special equipment except maybe a yoga mat for certain workouts. Just a heads... Shaun T will kick your butt. I found myself saying "eff you, Shaun T!!" To the tv many a time.. lol.. that's how you know it's good for you.

I would get a food tracker app. You may think you eat good but what you eat my have a lot of hidden calories. I prefer insanity because the workouts were shorter and I didn't need any equipment. I

I love insanity! You can get beachbody on demand for $100 for a year and have access to all of the programs, so from a $$ perspective that is your best bet (the programs are pretty expensive individually). Insanity is 2 months and doesn't require any equipment. P90X is 3 months and requires weights. So that could help you decide which is better for you. But you have plenty of time to do them both!

Although as others have said, if you're only going to do one thing, focus on nutrition. I love working out but eat mostly crap, and it means my gains are minimal even doing super hard programs.

I'm a huge fan of the Beachbody program! I use the containers for portion control and it's been a great help and also bought Beachbody on Demand so I can access all their workouts and it's totally worth it! Definitely try out the containers and On Demand!
