(paging firstoneat56) deer/hunting themed wedding favors

I am going crazy trying to figure out what would be a good idea for wedding favors. We are hoping to do something rustic, or related to deer hunting or camo. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I love the cookie idea! Your logo is super cute and would look cute on the cookies. Maybe spice it up with fall flavored icing like pumpkin, maple or apple spice? Just a thought. We're doing that with our dessert bar, having pumpkin spice and maple/bacon icings on doughnuts, cinnamon roles and cupcakes and I'm super excited about it. Good luck!

@celia Milton it is our wedding and quite frankly if anyone is so offended mlby what we are doing, they don't have to be there. Like I said, we are not actually hunting. And just to make you happy, we aren't going with "the hunt is over"

@justkidding I don't know why you're stuck on my thread asking for suggestions on something you don't agree with. If you don't have a suggestion to help what I'm looking for, why bother commenting at all?

Put Paging Firstoneat56 in title, she'll see it and offer advice.

I agree it's an odd theme, but honestly i'd choose this over Bonnie and Clyde or Great Gatsby.

Well...they won't know what you're doing until they're there, will they....

Yes. I'm delirious that you're not going with 'the hunt is over'. Now I can live another day.

Sounds to me like you are tastefully incorporating your FH's hobby into your wedding. I think it's an awesome way to include him and make it personal.

I have seen small antler keychain bottle openers pretty cheap. Silver or gold colored

Look, I'm so over the country/rustic weddings, but my FH's family are huger hunters and fisherman. It is not reflected in our wedding at all, but I get t since it is a part of our lifestyle.

Your favors don't have to reflect your theme. We have a few golf elements in our wedding (cake topper, save the date photo, etc.) since it is something we do together. Our favors will be a spice rub because it is cheap to make and everyone can use it.

If you want to stay with the theme, I think I venison jerky is the way to go. Otherwise some chocolates will do. Everyone likes to eat!!

Stacy is simply looking for help. I am not an advocate of hunting by any means, but she needs advice, not criticism. Just trying to play peacemaker.

Stacy, have you thought about doing something like a personalized bottle opener? There are tons of cute and affordable ones online.

IMO it's so tacky. I'll never get themed wedding, especially something like this. I don't know how many guests you're having, but my guess is at least one will not thing this is a "cool" theme. Yay animal slaughter. Let's get married!

Maybe some trail mix? Thinking of camping and food for that.

She's not changing her mind on the theme so why waste breath/typing energy?

The cookies are a great idea. I'm with Justkidding, if I can't eat it, it's not going home with me. If it's hunting themed and I can't eat it, I'm putting it in the trash before I put it in my car to go home. Edibles are best for any favor.

There's also the skipping favors route. They aren't necessary and an extra expense.

OP, it's firstoneat56 (first one at 56, but one word) not "firsttoeat56".

I don't necessarily understand nor have I ever seen this theme in action but she has already stated that it's going to be understated. OP, you've been given some great ideas for edible favours, I suggest you look into them.

Go with edible; the cookie ideas are a great, safe choice that would please most people. Some people wouldn't want to/can't eat venison jerky (vegetarian, pescatarian, or those who only eat poultry, etc). I guess it's a know-your-crowd kind of thing.

What about little s'more bags? People love something they can eat and you can do the tag up however you want.

Geez Louise. My nephew's wedding was much like this. Do I hunt? No. Did I mind the camo/bullet casing boutonnières? No. Because it was his wedding.

(Will I have these things? No. Because it's my wedding. I already warned him there will be way more show tunes and way fewer assault weapons at mine. He's coming anyway.)

Anyway, I like the cookie idea as well because 1) food and 2) your logo would look really nice on a cookie.

The antler keychain also sounded ok. But I'm on team edible favors.
