(paging firstoneat56) deer/hunting themed wedding favors

I am going crazy trying to figure out what would be a good idea for wedding favors. We are hoping to do something rustic, or related to deer hunting or camo. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

@Stacy- don't bother wasting energy arguing about the merits of a themed wedding, or hunting in general. You're not going to change any online minds. There are people who absolutely do not understand that hunting is still highly prevalent in certain areas of the country. If a wedding doesn't fit within their rigid stereotype, they have difficulty.

The pp's are correct though. If you are going to have favors, edibles are usually the way to go. so far you have suggestions for deer shaped cookies, and venison jerky.

If you choose not to do edible, there are lots of tutorials online for coasters you could decorate with a deer rubber stamp.

These are cute if you want to do a non-edible favor. We're doing a s'more kit for ours because the venue has a really cute table to roast marshmallows. I grab a free coozie whenever they're offered though, so handy for tailgate parties and bonfires.

I think the deer theme is a good idea. Maybe use deer shaped cookie cutters along with a good cookie recipe as wedding favors. Or you could deer shaped chocolates maybe?

I really like the Smores idea! Cookies are a great idea too. I was at a camo/hunting wedding. They had cookies and the icing was done as camo. It was really cute. The cake & cupcakes also had camo icing. I would stay away from the jerky. Although it's a good idea that fits your theme, jerky isn't for everyone.

Now I live in Texas... plenty of this camo wedding theme to go around, I have not seen one that wasn't redneck over the top camo throw up everywhere. Heck I go hunting and wear my orange hunting vest. Buttt I just haven't seen a good camo theme actually work out..

A wedding without a theme does not = a "stuffy fucking wedding".

Our wedding is 11/11 which is muzzleloader season here. I've had soooooooo many complaints about that. Lol. I really like the trail mix idea!

Magnolia, absolutely no need to insult anyone.. and yes: " unsolicited bitchiness " is insulting and offensive.

There is absolutely a possibility of TOO much theme..It can definitely be off putting to guests if there's an overwhelming theme. Wedding does not equal stuffy.. smh..

Hisbeauty I stated in a comment above that there isn't going to be an overwhelming theme. And quite frankly, all of the criticism and judgement I've been given over this post is pretty insulting and offensive.

Stacy, I saw that and was not referring to you, was made in more of a general statement.

Stacy everyone is around the country.. while I wouldn't do it, in the south camo is a real thing, something to be proud of, and not everyone will understand because they just think it's "hunting" clothes.. I wouldn't do it but girl I understand it.. it throws me off of it because here they do the mama June and honey boo theme. Be proud of what you do if it's over the top or subtle.. everyone is different that's still what makes the world fun and full of headaches. :p
