I think this new paper flower wall trend is beautiful! It's unique and elegant at the same time. I didn't realize how expensive it is to rent paper lol. The cheapest I could find was $750 for an 8x6 wall. Being crafty myself I decided to order the basic supplies to create 1 large rose flower to see...

The cheapest I could find was $750 for an 8x6 wall. Being crafty myself I decided to order the basic supplies to create 1 large rose flower to see if I can even do it. I think it came out pretty good. All together it's going to cost me about $175 so why not spend that money somewhere else for the wedding! What do you guys think?

My wall would be 8x8 with champagne, gold, and blush colored flowers for my sweetheart table backdrop. So excited!!

I love paper flowers! But I will say they are time consuming so if you are going to do them then alot for the time and storage of them all. I made them for several occasions. My daughters wedding and a friends wedding but different purposes .Also made them out of cardboard for place settings but all of which were time consuming. The friends wedding were mostly for chair decorations. I will try to find some pics.

This backdrop was just a bunch of cheap flowers painted with spray paint because we ran out of time

This was a paper flower backdrop used behind cake table. We used chicken wire stapled to a frame.

Also cost made me do more than I wish I had but as the mother of the bride this would be great if I did not have to worry about it and could be there for my daughter. In our situation cost was a major factor

I think you should spend your $175 somewhere else. No offense, but none of the paper flowers displayed on this thread sold me on paper flowers or a price tag of nearly $200 (plus labor) . I'm sorry, but paper is paper and it's quite obvious Perhaps it's because I'm a florist, but I just don't get it. You don't need a wall of paper flowers at your wedding. Your florist could give you something spectacular at your sweetheart table -- live flowers -- for that amount of money. And what is this about "renting" paper? Isn't it used up after it folded?

I disagree with @Rachel D. Yes, live flowers are great, but OP, I think your insp pic is beautiful and unique. Do you need a paper flower wall? No. Are they supposed to look like regular/live flowers? No. Do they look cool and beautiful? Yes! You have over a year which is plenty of time to make them all and make it work. Especially with fall starting and new tv episodes...make flowers while you watch! Or at least during commercials Smiley smile

Also, I'm jealous now and seriously considering doing this as well. Love it!

You are awesome for tackling this project. I thought about doing it but got anxiety just thinking about it. Definitely worth it for the price difference though.

This is from our second paper flower craft night..the ladies in my fh family love crafting and wanted to help so we made a night out of it. I had them pre cut and let them get creative with how they put the flowers together. We were making flowers from 5:30 till 11 at night, but we also had dinner and snacks in that time frame too. I'll show more pictures when I start to arrange them!

Sorry but I agree with Rachel. I'd spend the money elsewhere. I don't get the appeal. I'm sure all of the projects done will be great but I guess just not my style.

@Tabets Wifey: I purchased from https://www.etsy.com/shop/KHallbergDesign. Katherine is really easy to work with and will do what takes to make sure it is to your liking. Every circle is specialy dyed by hand and os attached to twine that you hang over a pipe.

I think paper flowers are whimsical and unique and sometimes if you are a bride not fortunate to afford the price tag of real flowers or staff to create day of you have to resort to planning well in advance which is where paper flowers come in because for a fraction of the cost you can still make your wedding beautiful. Don't get me wrong I love real flowers and prefer over paper any day but in certain situations paper is a better alternative for various reasons.

At Thylia, cardstock and you can get at Walmart or Michaels or staples. You can paint the paper too for the ones you want more detail.

I appreciate all of the different inputs. I personally think a paper flower wall like the example I posted for my inspiration is beautiful! I think it's creative and save's me literally thousands compared to a real flower rose wall. Real flowers are gorgeous but their price is real too. I just don't have $5,000 to spend on my rose wall for real roses.

What I meant by renting is these companies that do it will set it up for you, but the day after your wedding will remove each flower and take down the wall so that they reuse them for other events. I figured I could sell my wall for like $100 and someone would be happy lol.

I totally get it's time consuming but with 60% of my planning done a year out, I want a project to do to tame my excitement up until the wedding. I think it will be good for me!

I purchased my paper from Michaels and kellypaper.com Must be 65lb cardstock!
