Paper Plates for Dessert?

Asheyna, on April 9, 2013 at 11:49 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 16

FH and I went to rent the dinnerware for the reception yesterday, woaaaah. I'm wondering about using paper plates and plastic forks for the dessert. They'd obviously be nice quality ones but it would save a decent chunk of change doing it that way.

Or serve bite size desserts that you just need a napkin for. I went to wedding that had that and I thought it was so great, after dancing for an hour or two I just popped over, grabbed a bite or two and continued to dance.

We're having cake, chocolate fondu, and these small coffee desserts my Oma is going to make (same as she made for my mom's wedding). I'm thinking of just putting small paper plates and forks on the dessert table and leaving it at that.

I'm using plastic for my whole reception.. My friends and family are there to celebrate with us, and I have a feeling no one will care one way or the other. If they do, I'll just tell them to kick rocks. Lol. Do what helps your pocket! There are nice budget friendly alternatives out there! Smiley smile

We're doing all plastic as well. Not only does it save money versus rentals, but we don't have to pay the caterer to wash the dishes either. And there is NO WAY ON EARTH that I'm washing dishes at my own wedding!!! :p

Jennifer, that is a huge reason we are doing plastic too. We are buying the BBQ/meat from a restaurant, but the rest of the food, we are doing ourselves, so there is no caterer. Therefore, I am not making my family or myself wash 400 dishes!! Lol.

We're renting to avoid having to wash the dishes. But we decided to go with paper plates/plastic forks for dessert, hello $100 savings!

Were also using Plastic and paper for are whole wedding. I agree wholly with Morgan P. Are guests are there to celebrate with us not comment on the decor. If they did I don't think they would be friends of ours for much longer.. LOL.
