Parent wedding album

Tiffany , on January 8, 2016 at 8:41 PM Posted in Married Life 1 8

Hello everyone,

I finally got all of my amazing wedding photos back from our photographer and wanted to make our parents wedding albums. But I am suddenly stuck on what to put in there albums. We have hundreds of photos and I don't know how to narrow it down. I also do not know in general what kinds of wedding photos should go in our parents albums. Any thoughts or advice?

Thanks! Smiley smile

As part of our package, each set of parents got an album--the default was just a smaller version of our album, so that's what they got (other than one picture--my mom has a huge issue with one family member, so I didn't include the photo of us with her in their album).

Honestly, let them pick! Your parents will have their own favorites.

I made one version of a wedding album on Shutterfly for both sets of parents and for us. I limited it to 25 pages (20 come in the price, after that each page is $2).

I started from the beginning of the day, getting ready and then formals, bridal party photos, family photos, then the ceremony, receiving line, dinner/speeches, cake cutting, dance, and special ones of us.

Man it was hard! But I limited my self to two pages for each "event" in the day and it worked out well.

I made the same for both because we are a family know and it didn't need to be 1 sided (eg separate albums geared more towards my family or his). If you think they'd want specific albums, then make a 90% similar layout but change the family photos to just yours or just his.

Everyone loved it! They loved seeing our whole wedding day not just the parts they were there for. You remember the whole day but not every one else was apart of each portion. For me it was fun to see the guys getting ready because I wasn't there!

Similar to @NowASeptMrs, I'm going to make each of our mothers an album on Shutterfly. It will be mostly the same layout, but I'll just swap out some of the family photos so they each have pictures of their side of the family. Include photos in chronological order, maybe...show the whole day. But probably just a few getting ready photos, and more emphasis on family portraits and moments throughout the ceremony and reception.

We got parent albums as part of our package, just a smaller version of the big one we got. But in your case, if say let them pick.

    Edited because I can't spell.

I let my MIL pick her photos. She could choose 50, but then the photographer said she could pick 75. She never did it and now we don't have one. This is a total shock to me because my MIL is such a type A but I guess she just got too busy.

Don't miss out on the opportunity even if you do have to narrow it down yourself. Remember to pick people who are important to them try to see the wedding through their eyes not your own. Good luck.

I agree, let them choose. Everyone will like different things.
