Party bus drinks

Jill, on June 28, 2016 at 10:22 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 8

Hey everyone! Between the ceremony and reception the bridal party is going to be riding on a party bus, and I was looking for some ideas for summer drinks? The groomsmen love beer so we will have plenty of that but for my girls I was trying to find some simple but delicious cocktails? I bought the bridesmaids personalized cups with lids and straws so they won't have to worry about spilling on the bus! We're stopping for pictures at a secondary location before the reception so we will be on the bus for a while and I want to make sure they have a good time!

We are planning on having beer, hard cider (my fave), champagne and then maybe a bottle or two of liquor to pass around. I think when you start having to mix drinks things can get messy. Maybe make a large pitcher of a drink everyone likes and then just pour it. I know I'm trying to make it as easy as possible.

And I know having a gap between the ceremony and reception is typically frowned upon, but my family is a farming family and many of the uncles and my own dad need to run back to their farms to make sure the daily afternoon chores get done before coming to the reception so for literally all family weddings we have a 1- 2pm ceremony and 5 or 6 pm reception start time ...and for out of town guests we are having a late lunch served at the hotel with a shuttle service to the reception to make sure they are taken care of also since I know this is not the norm for them as far as a wedding goes!

Yes I was thinking a pitcher also Steph! And what are your favorite mixed lemonades SnowQueen? I'm not opposed to having multiple options to make sure there's something for everyone!

Last weekend I did a blue berry schnapps, blue raspberry sour vodka and lemonade in a big pitcher. It was fruity and light. You can swap out the blueberry for any flavor. Also the schnapps gives it a nice little color. If you premix it in a large pitcher or to go container it can be easy to serve. I also saw hard cider above which I also love.
