Party Favors

Chelsea, on November 23, 2020 at 10:07 AM Posted in Planning 0 11

I know party favors aren't a must but personally I love them and take them at every wedding. I am trying to be cheap but also do something that people would use. I have a 250 guest list in July 2021. With all these black Friday deals they have mini mason jar shot glasses for 90cents. Should I do that and smores? My theme is rustic and I have mason jars pretty much set everywhere for my wedding.

Opinion before I buy?

Those would be fun! Favors are totally optional, so if you decide to skip them and save the money, I think that would be fine too. But if you definitely wanted to do favors, I think shot glasses and smores are fun, and it sounds like they both go with your theme! I got a shot glass from a friend's wedding 5 years ago that I still use today.

Love that idea! Even if you have guests that don't drink, the shot glass is a cute decor piece!

I throw mason jars and ahot glasses away within 2 days after the wedding. Get a favor that you know many of the guests will use and not throw away nor sit somewhere.

Hence why we will do smores also. I wouldn't take something if I was going to throw it away. We like to drink and will add the shot glass to our mini bar area. Just like the 10 koozies I have from other weddings. If you don't drink take a smore instead? Most of family members do drink. We are also in our mid 20s so think it fits our style more.

That's so wasteful. Why would you take something just to throw it away?

I'm not huge on favors BUT I think this is a fantastic idea, especially if you leave the glasses plain and don't personalize them with wedding details. I'd love this favor and scoop up any that anyone left behind. Adding an edible in terms of smores is perfect.

Food favors are definitely the best option. A couple years ago, we did s'mores favors for my mother-in-law's 60th birthday. We used the normal size mason jars that I got from Walmart and put the ingredients for the s'mores in them. I don't think we had any extras after everyone left.
