Passing gas in front of SO

evaporar, on January 4, 2015 at 9:46 PM Posted in Married Life 0 53

Ok, so I apologize if this is a bit TMI, but...How does everyone else deal with farting in front of SO? Does anyone have the "honor" of being the stinky one in the relationship?

I ask because until recently, I held in my gas when my FI was around, even though he did not. One day he asked me why I never farted in front of him, and said that I shouldn't worry about it because he wants me to be totally comfortable around him. The truth is, I was just trying to spare his nose from the pain, because I've always been a very gassy gal and my gas tends to silent but very, VERY deadly. Anyways, since then I have been more casual about letting loose, and he has been "blown away" (terrible pun intended) by my ability to clear the room. Be careful what you wish for, and all that.

So, do you and SO fart in front of each other? And if so, are you a big stinker?

It took me about a year to fart in front of FH. When I finally did it, I stood in the middle of the room, lifted my knee up (Think Captain Morgan pose) and just ripped one. He looked at me like WTF???? And then just started cracking up. He never expected it. I still won't go #2 in front of him, but I will leave the door cracked if he's downstairs lol

    Edited thanks to auto correct

If you don't I'd suggest growing up. I assume if you are getting married then you are adults capable of knowing how the body works.

We fart in front of each other, if it's stinky I usually warn him though...I'm usually worse than him though but we're comfortable with each other. I do still hold them in sometimes. Especially if we're spooning in bed, I really hold them in haha!

I can't go #2 if he's just outside the bathroom door though and could hear me, I can barely go #1 if he's in ear-shot. It has definitely gotten better though, I told him that if I have to pee on my wedding day and if I need someone to help me with my dress, he's probably the only one I'd feel comfortable with. I'm the girl that HATES going to the bathroom with other girls, I just can't go when someone I know is in a stall next to me. I can't imagine having even my sister in the bathroom with me to hold my dress.

FH and I have been together over a decade and he's been there when I've delivered his children. I'm not holding in gas in front of him.

This discussion has happened before (and it has been totally hilarious), but there are some women who refuse to fart in from of their FH / husband even after living together for years. I find that weird!

Omg this is perfect... I have always been the bad gas, clear an outside area one. With fh we always pass gas and it did not take long for that to happen. I am also the girl who thinks farting is funny, probably why my son farts and laughs.

We've been cutting the cheese in front of each other since shortly after we started dating. He was first and is still the reigning champion.

We are both pretty gassy, but if we feel a big round coming through our guts we try to leave the room and let it pass.

The worst ones come from the dogs or his cousin that we frequently play cards with.

We don't fart in front of each other often. It happens on occasion and the thin bathroom doors don't hold back too many secrets. It's nothing to do with comfort, I just don't think its very classy and I don't really want to smell myself (I have a lot of digestion problems). We stayed in a hotel in Hong Kong this year that had glass walls in the bathroom with no privacy curtain. That was interesting.

We've moved beyond passing gas in front of each other. He kissed me goodbye this morning while I was mid poop. Never a dull moment with us.

I have never ever been comfortable with bathroom functions (peeing, pooping, even farting) in front of others. Any others, not just my FH. Just something about it is super awkward to me. I still lock the bathroom door at home. He has no such problems though and will fart at home whenever the need strikes him. I did start to relax out of necessity when I had to walk around at home for two weeks with a catheter bag and had to be encouraged to fart as often as possible. Nothing like having sweet, well meaning family visit and witness my pee bag filling and ask me how often I farted that day. Ugh! So much for my shyness!

Hmm ,I did once by accident, we laughed, I was embarrassed. He never did, until recently when he had his colonoscopy and when he woke up he was a tooting machine, was so funny! It was a one day thing, he was on drugs lol! Now back to being proper! Funny to read these responses

We both try not to fart in front of each other. Last Valentine's Day though, we went to a dinner under the stars at the botanical gardens. Later, while examining a rare pine tree while on a guided tour (and under the influence of several bottles of wine), DH said something silly and I elbowed him in the stomach, whereby he promptly let one rip. The immediate effect being complete silence in the group and the couple behind us backing away quickly. I died laughing.

He didn't fart though, he 'stepped on a duck'.

Hooray for the farters! It's not really that big of a deal around here. We don't do it if it's sexy time or in public. Other than that, pretty much anything goes. His are lethal, but mine are LOUD, lol. And we both blame it on our poor dog. Yelling "Rosie!" is usually code for "I just ripped one." The poor dog always looks up at us like "WTF did I do?"

We do it all the time. No shame!!

We're both stinky lol. This is TMI, but how is your diet? When I ate crappy, had a few drinks a day, etc, I had HORRIBLE gas. Now that I eat better (not very processed, no dairy, not a lot of alcohol), I find the farts are much less deadly!
