Paying for venue🤔

Cassi, on January 1, 2021 at 3:07 PM Posted in Planning 0 27
Though I just made a suggestion on a topic of this same question, I realize I’m not 100% sure myself on when is an appropriate time to pay for your venue? We’re tying the knot in July of 2022 but I don’t want to lose our date with a particular venue- is there a sick thing as too early to pay the deposit? 🤔 thank you in advance for any advice!

Also happy new year! 🎆

Hello from another July 2022 bride!! I think now would be a great time to start looking at venues - since so many people postponed from 2020 to 2021, venue availability filled up for 2021, so many people are looking at 2022. Also, some 2021 brides may be postponing to 2022. I think you still have some time, so no immediate rush, but if you find a venue that your heart is set on, and they have your date available, book it!

If it's the venue you are sure you want, then no such thing as too early. The earlier the better actually because that will lock in your date. I made my deposit a year and a half in advance.

If you are 100% confident that you have chosen the venue you want to get married at, I would definitely sign a contract and put down the deposit. With all the weddings being postponed, plus the uncertainty of whether or not weddings will happen during the first half of 2021, a lot of venues are booking out 1-2 years in advance for weekends. I know a lot of our vendors are already booked through fall of 2022.

As the others have said, if you are 100% sure you want you use the venue, then put the deposit down. With so many couples postponing from 2020 and probably early 2021, you’ll want to start securing vendors quickly before they are booked.

Do it asap when you guys made a firm decision (date/time/location). However, check on postponement/cancellation fee. I am glad mine doesn’t cost anything to postpone due to covid (2 years to choose a new date), and if I cancel we won’t lose much, but it’s a destination wedding, so maybe it’s the norm.

No you can put your deposit down now and pay it off as the months go by. It'll give you more time to pay it off!

If this is the venue that you'd like to get married at then I would put the deposit down. A lot of bride and grooms have pushes back their weddings to either 2021 or 2022 because of Covid so it is better to secure the venue now then wait and someone else book the date that you want.

Don’t wait- if you love that venue you better make your deposit. There’s a lot of COVID brides that rescheduled to ‘21 & ‘22 - until you book your venue that date/venue isn’t yours.
