Paying to go to someone else's wedding...

I meant to share a while back but forgot since I was wrapped up in wedding plans. Anyhow, we received a wedding invitation and in it was a small card (pictured) saying we need to pay $60. Lol even my FH knew that was ridiculous. He is the best man so we have to go. My FH still hasn't paid it. Not...

    Haaaaaaaaaa!!!!!! I'm sorry but this just takes the cake. Wow. Each of the weddings we've attended thus far this year we've given $300-$400 to "pay our way" so speak but never was it asked for or demanded in ticket form. I can't.....

    Damn! This goes right up there with the wedding I attended where the couple cut half the guest list from the reception dinner two weeks before the event, then invited them to come after the dinner for cake and dancing with a cash bar. Hmm ... maybe they know each other.

    Am I the only one thinking that $30 wouldn't even cover half of my cost per person? Haha, not that I would ever ask anyone to pay, but if I would go there, I would totally not give them a gift anymore and I would spend way more on a gift. So they are sort of hurting themselves.

    We had to pay at my FH's best friend's wedding. Declining wasn't an option for us either, so I feel your pain!!

    Did they give out their honeyfund as well?

    It really does suck that they aren't even covering the bridal party.
