PEACOCK themed wedding!! DIY ideas

Private User, on September 9, 2013 at 3:59 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 10

I have decided to have the theme of our wedding be peacock feathers. Purples, blues, greens. Anyone have ideas for centerpieces?

Party favors?

and decorations?

I am planning on making as many things as I can, because we are on a tight budget.

Anything ideas, advice, etc. will help.. thanks

You can buy a lot of peacock feathers and make some rather impressive "bouquets" out of them. I have one in the corner of my home office! They are gorgeous.

This is the florist I am using; mainly because I wanted peacock feathers in my bouquet and she had already done it. This is a link to her "Peacock Wedding" that she did.

This is our theme as well. I found a handful of great ideas on Pintrest, of course.

I had a peacock-themed color palette for our wedding. Got lots of positive comments on our bouquets, which used peacock fans (borrowed from a co-worker) as the base to which my florist added extra feathers and flowers. The bouts also had a peacock feather in them. Our table decor was very simple, with real peacock feathers of varying lengths, silver grasses and a glittery fake peacock feather in a wine bottle tied with teal and magenta ribbon. (Sorry - don't have a pic of that on my work computer.)

ETA: I bought a big bag of peacock feathers from a place in Hong Kong on Amazon for cheap. Found inexpensive invites and stickers for our spice rub favors on zazzle.com.

I don't know where you live, but my uncle had his wedding at the Baltimore zoo and there was a real live peacock chillin' with us during the reception. It didn't have its feathers out but it was really cool!

And the stickers that I had made with Sweet Sanity on Etsy for the favors. We're also having the feathers throughout some of the centerpieces and an accent within my bouquet and the bridesmaids, but not trying to go over the top with it.

Ali, have you looked into Pinterest? There are a TON of beautiful Peacock wedding ideas on there! I have a board if you want to check some out that I have pinned. There are quite a few that you could easily DIY.

I love this idea for table numbers. Hopefully the photo turns out.
