People wanted to buy pricier gifts??

Jolie, on July 10, 2019 at 7:56 PM Posted in Registry 0 34
Jesus lord I have never even heard of such a thing. It really makes no sense to me. My mom tells me two people asked her if I wanted anything else more expensive than what was on my registry. I said to her like what??? She said over $100 expensive. She bought me my kitchen aid already so that’s not on there. All my dishes equate to over $100 dollars there’s a pot set over $100 and fricken roomba. That’s 3 gift ideas right there to satisfy whoever the hell decided to ask. I’m sorry but who asks that crap?? Buy more than one gift or the most expensive gifts then or just give me cash at the wedding... I told my mom I have never been and never will be an expensive person. I’m not putting a ninja blender on my registry just to satisfy someone else. I put on what I wanted and that’s that.

That is frustrating, hopefully people can figure out gift giving ... They did it for many years before gift registries.

I’m sorry. We have a few over $200, several $100 but most are under $75

Wow that’s crazy. Don’t change your list to accommodate others. They will just have to buy multiple gifts or give you money.

Glad I’m not the only one. I usually think the opposite. Haha one registry for our friends’ wedding had a $70 sheet set and like not a comforter I thought that’s a lot no thank you and moved on!

I think the roomba is the only thing over $200 for us. I didn’t want any fine china right now or anything like that because we have a small house and are gonna move!

We have a guest list of 250 and wherever we registered told us we should register for double that 🙄
we have a kitchen aid and attachments, those are our main big expenses.

That's interesting you even got asked that! People don't even have to go based on your registry.

My mother is encouraging me to put about ten items on the registry that are over $200 but am clueless because we’ve both lived on our own for years before we met so we have a ton of stuff.

You should pick what you want that is within your budget that you have set. I tried to pick gifts more than $50.00. I probable have a couple of items that are around $75. I didn't want my guest to spend a whole lot and I did not want them to feel that they have to go over that.

That's definitely an odd question, but I wouldn't be offended. Someone is offering to get you something nice. It's very kind, just maybe a little out of left field.

This would totally be my aunt, lol! Smiley xd She loves giving gifts so the bigger the better for her. I told my FH that she needs to be seated at the nice table.

My gut reaction was not necessarily that she was trying to get you to add things to the registry, but rather willing to spend a chunk of money on a gift and wanted to knock out one big ticket item that no one else might purchase instead of grabbing several smaller things that individually be in-budget for others. Either way, I'd agree that you shouldn't register for things you don't need or want.

Yeah they always tell you that because the stores want the money hahah. I just never thought anyone would look at a registry that a couple has chosen and think yeah this isn't good enough. Umm sorry? Very strange... the couple wants what the couple wants. Deal with it! Someone was probably looking for a kitchenaid but my momma already got me the special color I wanted because it was on sale awhile back!

Yeah I wouldn't even know what to pick for ten items for that much! Smiley surprise We have lived together over 2 years and our kitchen is small. I don't have room for a whole lot of appliances and even still I put all appliances on there. Just because they aren't $100 doesn't mean I can't use them haha. I wanted to put a new kitchen hutch for the microwave that had more cabinets for storage but didn't find one I liked!
