People who bought rings at Jared's

Janeen, on September 26, 2014 at 2:19 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 18

My FH said that he got a call from Jared's about a sale for this weekend for $100 off wedding bands. I saw a thread not even a couple of days ago that someone got a coupon for $500 off. Is that likely or should I go with the $100 off one?

I went in to clean/ have my rings inspected the other night and asked about their current specials. The way it was explained to me, you need to purchase something $300 or more, and you will then receive $100 off your next purchase. I was hoping to get a plain band to wear when it is not safe to wear my current rings, but decided against it because of the way the sale is run. If you still need to purchase two bands, it may be worth it for you.

We got our new rings at Jared's for our vow renewal. First went and picked out the rings and put them on layaway. Then invited to a Levian show they were having. My ring is Levian. Went to the show and bought Hubby's ring which had a balance of a little over $1,000 and by doing so, like Emily said above, for every $300 spent we got $100 off my Levian ring. So instead of my ring costing $999, we only paid $699 for it. For us it was totally worth it. And we love our rings.

DON'T BUY AT JARED, POOR QUALITY. THEY DO HAVE DECENT CUSTOMER SERVICE BUT I DON'T LIKE BEING WITHOUT A RING FOR A WEEK WHEN STONES FALL OUT.

Um, I think it depends on the location. One of my stones fell out, and they had it fixed the next morning.

My ring came from Jared. I actually exchanged the first ring for one with a slightly different setting....the ladies there were complete snobby bitches to me and kept trying to sell me a completely different ring than what I wanted. I do not care for Jared's at all. I did not realize until after we got the ring there that Jared's is owned by the same company as Kay.

I've actually never had a problem there and I've had jewelry from them for 10 years!

I have never had a problem with Jared either, maybe its a location thing. Every time I go to the Jared by me, the customer service is great, and I never have an issue. My hubby was very particular and well educated about " diamond picking" so to say the quality is poor is a broad statement, and is maybe more of an isolated one. Maybe the turn around time has something to do with the locations back log, again mot my experience personally... I'm with Nay, Janeen and Marina- no issues here. My bridal set and my hubbys 2 bands came from them. thumbs up from the Wrights :-)

We got our rings from Kay. They had the same sale. After we traded my set from my first marriage we still got about $1500 in savings vouchers (100 for every 300 spent). The downside is that you have to spend it that way too (save 100 off every 300) and it expires fairly quickly. We did end up using some of the voucher on our bands. We weren't really ready to buy bands before we even set a date but it was too good of a deal to pass up because the band I wanted was over 2k and FH got two rings (one for work and one for out of work). I think after the vouchers the three rings cost us about $1500. Not too shabby and with zero% interest why not buy early? It was a hefty payment to avoid the interest so we just paid it off early instead of over 12 months.

I would have to second the long delay in getting repairs. My ring had to go out twice for sizing (they sized it 1/2 size too big the first time) and each time they had it for over a week. I wasn't happy lol

My repairs including stone replacement and sizing took about 2-3 days. It is what it is, and pretty common overall. Their 6 month inspection thing is a marketing ploy to get you in the store to spend money lol. I'm okay with that though.

FH was told that it's a flat $100 off wedding bands this weekend, not their rewards program.

I've only heard bad things about Jared's!

We stayed away from national chains when buying such important things!

I do agree that you're likely to get great customer service at a small place. But I have no complaints about my experience with them or the quality of my jewelry....which reminds me that I need to pay the insurance on my ring soon. Smiley winking

Well I actually did get my wedding band today from Jared's. The deal is for every $500 you spend, you get $100 off a subsequent purchase with the rules that it's $100 for every $300. I had nothing but great customer service again today and we left with both of our wedding bands!

My E-ring is from Kay's but my band is from Zales. FH ring is from Kay's. I think the customer service issues are mostly store/area specific. Not all Kay's, Zales, Jared's have rude sales people.

When we are talking about the coupon, we received one in the mail that we needed to spend 199.99 or more to receive 100 off. Which we did and luckily only paid 99 for FH ring. I added engaging so that was a fee. but it worked for me. I awaiting for another one lol

I use Helzberg as my "chain" jeweler because all my rings were bought online.

You can often find the exact ring from Jareds/Kays/etc on Etsy for much cheaper and same quality!

I wouldn't knock all chains! We use Helzberg as well and the customer service is fantastic. The only thing I hate about chains is that they have to outsource repairs, and it takes a while.
