People who used WedSafe/wedding insurance in general

rusticbride, on February 18, 2014 at 8:03 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 11

I could have sworn that I saw some ladies who had used WedSafe before on other threads. If you used WedSafe (or any wedding insurance in general), please let me know of what your experiences were.

No, not 100% Nadine, but I'm exploring the option.

Following this. My venue for ceremony sent me an email that they no longer offer it for purchase through the college and that it is still required. That was one of the companies they listed.

My venue requires it as it was built in 1766

Markel Wedding Insurance is what we used - policy was $150 and included liquor protection.

Have you ladies heard of getting wedding insurance through the same company as your homeowner's insurance? I've heard or seen that somewhere but can't remember where.

@Talayia, yeah, I've heard of that. We called our company yesterday but our policy is weird, and we couldn't add wedding insurance to it. We think that we are going to go with WedSafe, and apparently they use Nationwide.

Talayia, there was thread about this on WW.. titled something like - 'word to the wise'??

That was what got me started on this, left it to FH to explore, I have way too much going on.

My venue originally required if over 100 guests but changed their policy to 200.

They recommended wedsafe which was $350. I called my insurance USAA which uses Markel to underwrite. The rate was the same.

I decided to spend the $350 towards a shuttle to and from venue instead of insurance.

You can get it through your homeowners, but mine was just a general liability insurance, not event insurance- I wanted something to cover me incase my vendors went under.
