This might be a little TMI for some of you, but here I am totally needing help! According to my period calendar I might be on my period either on my wedding night or during my honeymoon, depending if it comes early or on time. I am not on birth control so there's no way to mess it up that way. So,...

This might be a little TMI for some of you, but here I am totally needing help! According to my period calendar I might be on my period either on my wedding night or during my honeymoon, depending if it comes early or on time. I am not on birth control so there's no way to mess it up that way. So, can anyone tell me how else I can mess it up? *Stress level high*

Ask your doctor for a prescription for Norethisterone. It will delay your period for up to 17 days without requiring that you start on birth control - its much more reliable than birth control for this purpose anyways. Its still a hormone, but its specifically formulated for the purpose of delaying a period. They should be able to explain to you how and when to start taking it (usually 3 days before your period is due).

Once you stop, your period will arrive within a couple days. I've used it before when going on vacation - works like a charm!

Wow, I'm amazed by how precise you are at mapping out your periods! I have never been able to predict at all because mine range from 3-4.5 weeks apart.

If you're considering Norethisterone, please know that a common side effect is bloating. So it might make more sense for you to take the Norethisterone now and delay your cycle in advance, so that you're not experiencing the bloating and other side effects on your wedding day.

Please don't take Plan B to alter your period! Like others said, talk to your Obgyn. Unlike the PP I had a really great experience with soft cups. I mean he can feel it, but it prevented any messes. I am on Mirena though and have a very light period when I do have one, so it may be different for someone with a heavier period.

Honestly, I've never experienced any bloating - not any more than i'd expect with my period 3 days away, anyways. Smiley tongue but if she has the time before her period to push her cycle off in advance, then thats def the way to go.

i use the clue app on my phone to track everything.

I have a period tracker app on my phone which is pretty accurate. I'm definitely going to talk to my doctor to get that prescription!! Smiley smile I think I want to do it in advance just to mess it up in advance.

@Crystal: that's a really good plan, because you can still have spotting and/or breakthrough bleeding when changing your cycle like that.

I've been off BC for 5 years and I get my cycle the same time every month. I planned our weddingmoon right in the middle just in case some weird stress induced cycle change occurs.

Mine snuck up halfway through the honeymoon. We survived just like we do every other time I get it, I wouldn't freak yourself out too much. The biggest issue was trying to buy supplies on a tiny island, holy price gouge.

@jeanne I am not sexually active because of my faith, so being able to finally do it is very important. Lol...this is way stressful when you've been waiting all this time and then can't.

I would just pray and leave it alone. You don't want to mess with your hormones at this point. I'd say take birth control but there are side effects and the last thing you want is to not fit into your dress because of the effects of taking birth control. I had a lot of friends that said they gained 10 pounds when they first started taking birth control. Just hope for the best at this point.

Hey! I know you made this post back in 2018 I believe, I wanted to hear how everything went? I get married in two months and I’m tracking my period, so it says I’m gonna be on it the week of my wedding and night. My fiancé and I have been waiting for this night to have sex since we are Christians. I’m really nervous. How did it all work out for you? What did you do differently?

Umm okay but i dont want to worry about this being hours on a beach and going swimming. Deffinitely would prefer trying to prevent or push it back. Mine came 2wks earlier bc of all the stress or it wasnt going to be during the wedding and honeymoon. Js.
