Period on my wedding :(

Notme, on August 1, 2022 at 10:41 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 7
I've read other topics like this on here. I know the answers many have given... honestly, I'm just a little upset by this even though I'm trying not to be, so I wanted to talk about it. My FH and I are not going to be intimate before the wedding in any way, so obviously having my period at the first time we can be is disappointing. And also, I'm traveling for the wedding, so I'll already be tired and I get super nasty periods. I think I'm mainly sad because he won't be upset (obv, I can't control this) but I hate disappointing him Smiley sad and also I had gotten a really pretty wedding lingerie set... white... of course -_-
Honestly, it didn't even occur to me that I could get it on the wedding date... but covid vaccines changed my cycle timing and my mother (awkward!!) was like um hun... 🥲🥲

Any kind of BC or IUD is not an option for multiple reasons. I have discussed with doc and it cannot happen.
ALSO, there is absolutely no way *it* is happening while I'm on. 🤣 although some of the suggestions on the last post I read were pretty funny lol.

This is a bummer, I’m sorry about Aunt Flo’s timing! I track my periods every month and for a while it was saying I’d be on it during my wedding but since logging the 2 most recent periods I’ve had the date has changed. It may change for you as well! 🙂💕

Aww man that's a bummer. But you never know wedding planning can be stressful and affect your cycle maybe at some point between now and your wedding day your cycle will get slightly adjusted. Your wedding night will still be special even if you have to put some things on hold for a few days. Weddings can be absolutely exhausting I m totally expecting to collapse on the bed and fall asleep within minutes of getting in our room, sorry hun haha. Whatever happens will be special, and hopefully if you do have your period you don't feel too sick that day. There are some great essential oil patches and heating pad patches that can really help with cramps. Best of luck to you!

That stinks. As others have said the stress leading up to the wedding may impact your cycle and push your period off. Otherwise, if it makes you feel better, a lot of couples are way to exhausted on the wedding night to actually do anything. So plenty of couples don't consummate the marriage on their actual wedding night.

I used Flex cups and we had sex plenty of times with it in. I would give it a whirl before hand and see how you guys feel about it! But I agree with above posters, many couples are not intimate on the actual wedding night but you will have the rest of your life to wear your pretty white lingere! Don't get too hung up on the day/night of the wedding. I'd bet that me and my FH will drink too much to be intimate on our wedding day, lol.

I’m sorry there’s a chance you may have to deal with it on your wedding day! I would recommend using a silicone cup such as the Diva Cup or Yuki Cup. I switched to this a few years ago and it’s been a game changer for my period! When I’m wearing it, I almost forget I’m on my period. I still do wear a liner to catch possible leaks, but that may be more manageable than a thick pad or tampon with a wedding dress on.
Addressing the part about being disappointed your period may occur during your first intimate experience: honestly, it actually helps with lubrication. This can be a bit of a problem for women during their first weeks/months of being intimate because you don’t quite know yet what helps get your natural lubrication going. Grab a couple towels and I promise it will be ok ❤️

I’ve found when I start exercising a lot heavier my cycle will get off track…. Maybe try really ramping up your cardio!
