Hi everyone!! I am getting married May 6, 2017. I am worried that I may get my period on my wedding day or during the honeymoon. I used to get my period on the 15th of every month for years! Hi everyone!! I am getting married May 6, 2017. I am worried that I may get my period on my wedding day or during the honeymoon. I used to get my period on the 15th of every month for years! Now all of a sudden the last 3 months I have been getting it every 28 days on the dot. I calculated it for May and if it keeps going this way I will get it the day before my wedding. I CANNOT have this happen. Any suggestions on what to do? I am not currently on birth control because its always made me gain weight in the past. Not sure if I should get in it now to try and delay my period or not?

Yes definitely talk to ur Doctor I was actually going to get off my bc pills this month but if I do I calculated I would have my period 2 days before my wedding. I cannot have my period on my wedding because I would be miserable. I get bad migraines the wk of my period that even my prescription doesn't really help much. So if u have similar issues definitely go see ur gyno

Talk to doctor. I usually get mine the 10th of every month lol. Never attempted period sex though. Probably would be messy and I'm usually too cranky lol.

Try a different brand. I tried 4 before I got one I liked. Now I take it for 3 months. And have a period every 3 months instead of each month...

You know what else makes you gain weight? Pregnancy.

Get on BC. Talk to a dr.

Uhh I don't understand why this is an issue. I've been getting my period for 15+ years now and it's not hard to manage / it doesn't disrupt life. You can still wear white, dance, get married, drink and have sex while having your period... I just never understand this question. And if it is that big of a problem for you, why would you ask an Internet forum instead of your doctor?

If your going to use the pill to aid this, then yes now. It takes 3 months to regulate once you begin taking it! You need any extra time you can get!!

@MelissaErin, some people may be uncomfortable with their cycle and all that comes with it. I personally would be extremely uncomfortable and would constantly be worried about it and not enjoying myself. I also get extremely heavy period and painful cramping. Aaannnd period sex is something FH and I personally aren't comfortable with, OP just might not want to deal with her period on the day she gets married.

Agreed with @Shannon - I can see why it's a major inconvenience for some people. I know for me my period is so so heavy I would be constantly worried. Plus the cramping is so bad.

I would talk to your doctor I've been on birth control for 10 years and I'm trying the active pill only and it's not working out. So I'm trying to get a game plan with my md Or try to get my pill schedule in sync so that my "period" comes a week before or week after my wedding. Hopefully it works out.

I don't get why it's an issue, either. Periods are a part of womanhood, and an indication of our health. If you're really that uncomfortable with them, then there are tampons, pain meds and Midol. If it's really that bad, then there's probably an underlying problem that needs medical attention. Sure, I'm uncomfortable too, but I can't handle birth control, so I accept and deal with it.

If you bleed that heavily get a diva cup. Done. Easy.

If you're too squeamish to use a diva cup, then god help you if you ever have children.

If you decided to do birth control do it now. It takes 3 months for your body to fully get used to BC. You don't want spotting on the wedding day either.

Mine was scheduled to start on the wedding day too, but 4 months before I got on Nuvaring. I loveee it! I can choose to skip my periods and don't have to remember to take a pill everyday. I've actually lost weight with it too.

Definitely talk to your doctor! I am getting married the exact same day and had the exact same problem. I was able to move my period up 2 weeks so I can skip the wedding and the honeymoon with it.
