Period on Wedding Weekend – roll with it?

I am a month out from my wedding day and it's clear that the 2 heaviest days of my period will fall on my rehearsal (swimming, river float) and on the wedding day. All I see in these forms are stories about how to move or stop your period. I definitely won't be moving mine, my hormones are super sensitive to messing with my birth control.

Can anyone share stories of actually having their period on their wedding (not trying to stop it)? I'd love to know – was it really so bad? Were you so caught up it didn't really matter? Was it a giant pain?

My wedding is in fall of 2016 and my periods are kind of irregular anyway, AND I'm not on BC. So there was really no way that I could take my cycle into consideration for our wedding. If it happens, it happens. I just hope that it won't be one of the times when my major "I don't even want to move" cramps kick in, maybe an endorphin high can prevent that? Hopefully. I agree that the laying a towel down isn't a big deal and my FH won't care, it just isn't what you imagine on your wedding night.

If you are on BC pills, skip your placebo pills and start a new pack. If not, just be prepared and enjoy your day with the usual you need to get through it. Advil, extra wipes, etc.

Im 4 months out fro my wedding and I check my calendar and I would be on my period for my bachelorette cruise wedding and honeymoon!! and I wasent about to deal with that. so I talked to my doctor about starting the depo shot. you get it once every 3 months and it stops ovulation so (usually) no periods! I got it on my last period and it stopped it so im hoping it will stop my period (or at least lighten it) for that time! may the depo will be right for you

I was due for my period on my wedding day (like clockwork) so I went on the pill in January to change it up and as I feared, it screwed up my cycle so every other month, I would start to bleed early and then bleed for 11-13 days straight. Ugh. So when I got it at the end of April, I just stopped taking the pills altogether and prayed. It ended up lasting almost two weeks! The good news, it held off until the day we got back from our honeymoon which was fantastic. Hubby is not a fan of sex during, so it was nice to just be spontaneous during our honeymoon. Good luck!

I have VERY VERY heavy periods that "shift" every so often, so I can't really track them due to a 5 cm fibroid and other lovely things. And my wedding day is all the way in October 2016. So when we were deciding on a date with the venue, I just picked a date I wanted and didn't think of my period. But I'm having a myomectomy to remove the fibroid this coming July and then possibly going on BC to regulate my period. Otherwise, I can't use BC because it doesn't work for me like that. I went on it a couple of years ago, and I had a period start before the sugar pill week. I was so disappointed. The doc said that the fibroid will do that. So I have my fingers crossed the surgery will work!

It's happening to me too! FH made a joke about how I shouldn't go in the ocean on our honeymoon saying I'll attract sharks....

I have a similar problem...we're expecting my period on the day of my wedding, a month away and if I'm as regular as I have been it won't miss that day. I was on the pill but we decided to stop so we could try for babies right away after wedding. Has anyone taken the pill to turn off their period for the day of or the honeymoon? I did have two months in reserve just in case....

Yes, I would like to suggest you the best menstruation protection which you can use on your wedding day. My friend had recommended me about the menstrual cups in which I've found coupe menstruelle économique (economic menstrual cup) the best to use. During my menstrual cycle this cup had really helped me a lot. Do try it once and you can go for more web searches.

I had mine! No worries! It wasn't a big deal and the day was gorgeous. Take midol, avoid all inflammatory foods the week before (I bloat like a puffer fish) and drink lots of water! You'll be good!

Plus, it'll give you an excuse to just go sleep and snuggle with your hubby after the ceremony. Smiley winking

Also, to add: I use an app to track and planned around the projected date but mine started jumping around (28 days one cycle, 35 the next) and I just said "forget it."

So I ended up right smack dab in the middle. Smiley smile

It depends on how bad your periods are. If you get debilitating cramps you may not have such a great time. But if you know what to expect then you can prepare. Only you know your body.
